Corrío Menor con Pajarillo en el piano (Joropo Venezolano)

La riqueza músical que posee la música venezolana es de una amplitud maravillosa, he dedicado gran parte de mi carrera musical a estudiarla e incluso a generar una propuesta personal en cuanto a su ejecución en el piano, y como arreglista fue el género que permitió mi desarrollo profesional, ya que tuve la oportunidad de escribir y dirigir una orquesta de música venezolana por un tiempo hace algunos años.

De todos los estilos y géneros musicales que forman parte del gentilicio venezolano, es quizas el joropo (específicamente el llanero) él que más nos identifica, pues de los géneros folclóricos este junto a la gaita de furro que se escucha tradicionalmente durante los meses de noviembre y diciembre, en mi parecer son los que más se popularizaron.

Of all the musical styles and genres that are part of the Venezuelan demonym, the joropo (specifically the llanero) is perhaps the one that identifies us the most, because within the folkloric genres it is together with the furro bagpipe that is traditionally heard during the months of November. and December, in my opinion, are the most popular.

En Venezuela existen apróximadamente 6 tipos de joropos, cada uno con una manera particular de ejecutarse, donde el cuatro (instrumento nacional parecido a una guitarra, conformado por 4 cuerdas) está presente en al menos 5 tipos de estos joropos. Cada uno de estos tipos de joropos son ejecutados en diferentes zonas del país, por ejemplo el joropo oriental es de la zona del oriente, el joropo tuyero o central es de la zona del norcentro del país, y en el caso del llanero, es de la zona llanera, la cual no solo abarca Venezuela si no toda la zona llanera de Colombia, por ello soy partidario de decir que el Joropo llanero es del Llano, y pertenece a ambos países, sin embargo, fue Venezuela quién tomó al género como bandera y por ello se piensa que pertenece solo a Venezuela, cuando en los llanos colombianos también forma parte de su folklore.

Each of these types of joropos are executed in different areas of the country, for example the eastern joropo is from the eastern zone, the tuyero or central joropo is from the north-central zone of the country, and in the case of the llanero, it is from the llanera zone, which not only covers Venezuela but the entire llanera zone of Colombia, that is why I am in favor of saying that the Joropo llanero is from the Llano, and belongs to both countries, however, it was Venezuela that took the genre as its flag and that is why it is thought that it belongs only to Venezuela, when in the Colombian plains it is also part of its folklore.

En esta oportunidad estoy presentando una adaptación de dos formas típicas de este tipo de joropo, el corrío menor y el pajarillo, que poseen ambos el mismo ciclo armónico, teniendo diferencia solo en el patrón rítmico.

On this occasion I present an adaptation of two typical forms of this type of joropo, the corrío menor and the pajarillo, which have the same harmonic cycle, with differences only in the rhythmic pattern.
