    About :

Nigeria's democracy day was on the 12th of june and Democracy day is supposed to represent a time in our when military rule no longer plagued the country. I time when it was no longer necessary for orders to be given and not challenged by any authority.

Now I'm not here to say Nigeria's Government can't deal with its authority being questioned and I'm not much of a political science student or government.

But I know that if you check Wikipedia for a list of massacres in Nigeria you'll that the government was mentioned 11 times.

This of course is an incomplete list but...those were 11 tumes when it was documented.

In 1980 when people sokoto didn't want to move because the government wanted to build a dam

2020 lekki massacre when youthtolk a stand against the government and 12 were listed dead and many were injured and missing.

Or was it the Odi Massacre of 1999 where the Nigerian Military under OBJ attacked Bayelsa state.

There is also the Baga and the Koshebe massacre.

Lets not forget the polgrom that killed many Igbos was hugely political.

The government for over 60 years has shown that it can be intimidated by its people and can not manage conflict.

However even though on paper we are a democracy many times our "civilian" leaders have done so questionable things

What could have made it needed it the first place for us to be under military rule anyway?

I'm not saying I have no hope for the country but even our leaders basically live abroad and come around for meetings where they share money.

Add all the things past Presidents have done that are dictator like.

This is my way of saying it means it really means nothing to me. But I understand it might mean a lot to some older folks.

I addition to all this we have leaders who live outside the country that we take orders from. They only come to Nigeria for formality sake and say things in meeting so they can have more money.
