I drink wine was the first song I fell in love with in Adel's new album 32. I fell in love because it is a piano song and I love piano songs.

I spent about an hour trying to catch the notes and chords with my ear and play them out. I found out it was in key D and the chords are among my favorite. The 1st, then 5th, then 6th, 4th then back to the 1st, and end in the 6th.

It's a little difficult when you start adding those middle chords and extra notes running up and downscale. I'm yet to learn how to do those things, but I will. Currently learning how to add grace notes from the conversation I had with my Hive mom(@mipiano).

The lyrics

The lyrics almost had me in tears. With Adel, it's almost the plea of a broken person who is well aware of the defect but has no clue of what to do. In this song, she continues down that line.

Asking questions that physiology has not been able to answer.

How does one become so bounded by the choices that somebody else makes?

How do we both become a version of ourselves that nobody even likes?

The line that trapped my attention was:

Sometimes the road less traveled is the road best left behind.

I love it when lyricists do this. Like when Ashe said in Moral of the story...

Bebo vino fue la primera canción que me enamoró del nuevo disco 32 de Adel. Me enamoré porque es una canción para piano y me encantan las canciones para piano.

Pasé aproximadamente una hora tratando de captar las notas y los acordes con mi oído y tocarlos. Descubrí que estaba en la clave D y los acordes están entre mis favoritos. El primero, luego el quinto, luego el sexto, el cuarto, luego de regreso al primero y termina en el sexto.

Es un poco difícil cuando comienzas a agregar esos acordes medios y notas adicionales subiendo y bajando de escala. Todavía tengo que aprender a hacer esas cosas, pero lo haré. Actualmente estoy aprendiendo cómo agregar notas de gracia de la conversación que tuve con mi mamá de Hive (@mipiano).

La letra

La letra casi me hace llorar. Con Adel, es casi la súplica de una persona rota que es muy consciente del defecto pero no tiene idea de qué hacer. En esta canción, ella continúa en esa línea.

Hacer preguntas que la fisiología no ha podido responder.

¿Cómo llega uno a estar tan limitado por las elecciones que hace otra persona?

¿Cómo nos convertimos los dos en una versión de nosotros mismos que a nadie le gusta?

La línea que atrapó mi atención fue:

Me encanta cuando los letristas hacen esto. Como cuando Ashe dijo en Moral de la historia ...
