I'm gonna share slowly over our detox time together... cuz we have many more days to talk about this! hehe So today, I'm focusing on filling with the goodies, and soaking up the baddies!
Hands down, the hardest portion of the detox is in the BEGINNING. I normally LOVE beginnings - but that is NOT true when it comes to any kind of withdrawal! LOL
You might think - hmmm what do I need a detox for? I'm not addicted to anything! I won't even have any withdrawal symptoms at all, I bet!! hehehe well..... yeah, you probably would.
They actually start to think that it's BECAUSE of the detox that they're feeling icky - which is partially true! The detox is now freeing up your resources in your body to finally TEND to that overflowing inbox of tasks! And when it starts focusing, wow - does it use a lot of energy!!!
It's excited! You're finally PAUSING your intake of poisons hahaha and allowing it the time to start tackling all those tasks! Well, it goes to work and guess what it does??? It starts dumping all those toxins out of the filtration systems - ready for you to help escort those toxins out of the body!!
But sometimes, that toxin dump doesn't exit fast enough - and how do you think that feels? LOL
Your body is also using so much energy to start "cleaning house" that you can actually feel lethargic! Who knew that your body was such a powerhouse INSIDE!?!
Yep.. it is. And it DOES get better after a few days. Sadly, the more toxic your body is before? The worse it feels during those first few days.
Feeding your body the good stuff! Juicing veggies is one of the nicest ways to get a TON of nutrition, enzymes, and fiber into your body fast. Yes - there is less fiber when you juice, rather than blend. But it is also a LOT gentler, faster and easier on your body. So... pros and cons! I choose juice!
Then? We start using some really great "sponge starches" to soak up the toxins, bind it to the fiber and.... exit! ๐๐ฉ hehehehe
Today, that was oatmeal for breakfast, and a baked potato for lunch (organic potatoes are always best!!!)
Why organic? well... interestingly enough - what we are asking those lovely starches to do in our bodies (soak up the toxins) is exactly what farmers have used potatoes for in the past! They soak up toxins in the soil. Yup. soooo... yup. LOL
Yep. We do. ๐ฏ So - being very mindful about where the potatoes are from, and choosing organic is the option for me! ๐ You can read more about The Dirt on Potatoes here!
Well, they are easy on digestion, she recommends organic potatoes, and they do help you feel "fuller" in the beginning. (and remember - they also DO soak up toxins, and are great fiber to.... wheeeeee!๐๐ฉ) I would be fine with just eating the oatmeal in place of the potatoes - but someone bought some at the house. They're here - might as well use them! hehehe
