Eye Àdàbà is a very poetic piece of music from Asa. The music symbolizes many things. Performing this piece at this time, at the start of the new week, with the ongoing crisis happening in our world today, just feels right. And I hope you find true meaning to really take hold of some hope in this song.
Eye Àdàbà means a Dove.
A Dove in my culture symbolizes hope and all good things.
Asa sings about waking up early at dawn and talks about how she chooses to see hope in the face of none.
She uses "dawn" to symbolize a start of something new, a day with a potential for good things.
She sings and prays that in the likeness of the gentleness and the peace the symbol of the dove brings, that the hope of a new dawn will bring such calmness to her soul.
As we start the new week, I hope the week brings for us great things and our hopes are fulfilled.
We also hope for peace in the nations of the world.
As the dove (Eye Àdàbà) symbolizes peace and tranquillity, we stand and hope for peace in Ukraine as they go through these turbulent times.
We also hope we come to a point in the world where we can live with some sense of togetherness as ONE human race.
