There are a lot of songs that have significant profound meanings, but there are others that just hit different and "touch your soul" so to speak.
Ire in my native tongue means "Goodness".
This song illustrates a person who in a bid to find greener pastures, left his 'home' to discover a supposed greater life.
He was so determined never to come back that he disconnected himself from his home, so he would never look back.
But on getting to the supposed greenland, he began to see that the great life he aspired to live was at home. Only if he had looked well, he would have seen the greenness of staying back.
So he sings that 'Goodness is calling on him from home'. Goodness is reaching out to his sould from home.
Enjoy it!
Lyrics (Natirovibe):
The grass is greener
On the other side
That’s what I thought
Before I took the ride
I burned my bridges
So I’d never look Back
But, if I had known
The life I was searching for
Was looking me right in the eye oh
If I had known
The life I was searching for
Was already my own
Ire nbe nile o (Goodness is at home)
Ire ayo (Goodness)
{Chorus}
Ire ire ire (Goodness Goodness Goodness)
Ire ire ayo (Goodness)
O npe mioo (Is calling out to me)
O ni kin ma bo (It’s telling me to come back)
O ni kin ma bo nile (It’s telling me to come back home)
Ire ire ire (Goodness Goodness Goodness)
Ire ire ayo (Goodness)
O npe mioo (Is calling out to me)
O ni kin ma bo (It’s telling me to come back)
O ni kin ma bo nile (It’s telling me to come back home)
{Verse 2}
The grass is greener
Where you water the ground
That’s what I found
When I took the ride
I realized the mountain I’ve been climbing
Is nothing but sand
I didn’t know I already had the answer
No I didn’t know
But, if I had known
The life I was searching for
Was looking me right in the eye
If I had known
The life I was searching for
Was already my own
{Chorus}
Ire ire ire (Goodness Goodness Goodness)
Ire ire ayo (Goodness)
O npe mi o (Is calling out to me)
O ni kin ma bo (It’s telling me to come back)
O ni kin ma bo nile (It’s telling me to come back home)
Ire ire ire (Goodness Goodness Goodness)
Ire ire ayo (Goodness)
O npe mi o (Is calling out to me)
O ni kin ma bo (It’s telling me to come back)
O ni kin ma bo nile (It’s telling me to come back home)
