    About :

The Owambe is very peculiar to the Nigerian People. It's a word we use almost every weekend cos we always have one party or the other in our society.
Owambe simply represents the party life of a typical Nigerian weekend and it has become very integral to our socialnlife especially in the South Western part of Nigeria.
It doesn't specifically point to a particular type of party, but it surely has to do with a lively event with plenty of food and vibes.
My experience with Owambes isn't that much, but as a performing instrumentalist, I have been to a number.

Weddings are usually the common attribution for Owambes. It's probably the furst thing that comes to your mind when you hear Owambe.
As a saxophonist, it not uncommon to have couples want you to grace their wedding with the sonorous sounds of the saxophone.
And in this wedding here, it wasn't any different.
I do not play so much at weddings. I rather do more of studio work. But if the couple really want me to play, then I give it the best.

Here I was opportuned to play a little but with the live band, before settling in to have my performances for the couple's first dance.
The couple's first dance is always a great thing and I feel privileged always to be the one behind the music.
The smiles and look on their faces as they gaze into each other's eyes whilst enjoying the flow of the music can be so satisfying as a musician and I don't take it for granted.

When COVID came, I couldn't play so much at live events for a while, so I moved into full time studid work. Now that things are somewhat coming to normalcy, I guess I should get back on track with live performances.

But then whichever way it works, I just love to share music!

Hope you enjoyed the snippets from the performances at the wedding!

    Thanks for listening!
