    In this video, I talk about the power of understanding your 'Open Loops'. According to David Allen, an open-loop is an unresolved thought or idea that doesn't have a next action or conclusion.

    How do you deal with these open loops? It's simple! We use what Allen calls a "MindSweep"

    Once per week, during a weekly review of your tasks and projects, take the time to write down any unresolved open loops in your mind -- this is the mindsweep. Every single thought of "I should do", "I need to do..", "I have to" and anything in between. Write it down.

    Break it down by every important aspect of your life. Be unrelenting. Don't worry if it's just a word or phrase, as long as you write it down.

    • Relationships
    • Spirituality
    • Wealth
    • Health
    • Leadership
    • Wisdom

    Then for each item, aim to put down just one single thing that can move that thought forward in your life. It doesn't need to be big, just one simple thing.

    By doing this mind defrag, by conducting a mind sweep and resolving your open loops, you'll find that - just like a computer hard drive - you'll start feeling your mind be more responsive, your mood may improve and you'll feel yourself rising above the water that you've been treading.
