Though Christmas season is upon us, this day was very New England Autumn.
Despite a few chill frosts, the last of the Summer flowers were doing fairly good in the cutting garden. I picked the last apple on my favourite tree and with an inspiring sunndy afternoon on the terrace with a background of blue sky and blue sea, I made a still life to sketch.
When I make sketches such as these, they often inspire colour palettes in my work or they might become a background for a painting later on. I sketch daily, even if it's a few pencil sketches in my journals on my morning beachcombs , it's a practice I do try keep up.
In this vlog I also share, in contrast to the sunny blue sky of the painting day, was the wonderful grey fog we can get here. The weather changes our view and scene constantly and can even, in one day, give me multiple views to enjoy.
I hope you enjoy coming along with me on this little walk and enjoying the last of Autumn before Christmas really begins.
Thank you for joining me today and remember to Stay Creative!
