Begum Sufia Kamal is one of the few women in Bangladesh who are considered as pioneers of women's awakening. She was born on 20th June, 1911 in Barisal district of Bangladesh and died on 20th November, 1999. During her tenure, Bengali women have lagged far behind in terms of education. She overcame all obstacles and became self-educated. She not only wrote poetry but was also deeply involved in various social and political activities. If you want to know more about Sufia Kamal then you can find that information here. Numerous poems written by her have taken a special place in the minds of the people. One such popular poem written by her is Polli Smriti. Here the poet narrates various memories of her childhood. This is one of my favorite poems. I hope you will like the recitation of this poem.
