🎅 "The Birthday Cake" Regresó el cine de gansters y esta entrega es NAVIDEÑA 🎅

[ ESPAÑOL ] Sigo con mis pelis navideñas favoritas! Esta vez les traigo un thriller de mafiosos llamado "The Birthday Cake" que esta filmada en un estilo similar al de "Uncut Gems" de los hermanos Safdie. Si son fans del estilo, esta les va a encantar.

Esta película nos narra la peligrosa noche que el protagonista debe atravesar para celebrar la memoria de su padre, fallecido en circunstancias sospechosas junto a su excéntrica y peculiar familia. Todo esto, mientras lleva el pastel de cumpleaños para disfrutar al final de la cena.

Amé el estilo de esta peli. La personalidad, los colores y la dirección son geniales. La cámara siempre esta muy cerca del personajes principal creando claustrofobia y haciendo que tengas una experiencia inmersiva en el film. Las luces de neon constantemente alumbrando las situaciones le dan una personalidad solida a esta peli ya que siempre estan presentes de alguna forma -la iluminacion es asombrosa, cuidan mucho el detalles y es uno de los aspectos que mas disfrute de este largometraje-.

El reparto es otro de los puntos fuertes en esta película. Hay nombres fuertes como Ewan McGregor -que algunos conoceran como Obi-Wan Kenobi. Que por cierto pronto saldrá la mini serie Kenobi! Y estoy emocionado por esto!- William Fichtner, a quien no había visto en un papel tan intenso desde hace un tiempo y este estuvo increíble. El papel principal esta en manos de Shiloh Fernandez y su miedo, incomodidad y desesperación llevan el peso del film a la perfección. Y deje una sorpresa para el final! Tambien tendremos a Val Kilmer, quien regreso a la pantalla con un papel hecho a la medida que los dejara frios cada vez que aparece. Dios que buen personaje tiene Kilmer en esta peli!

Un reparta como este solo funcionaria con una buena historia y esta pelicula la tiene. Esta muy bien escrita y va soltando los detalles poco a poco de manera que iras descubriendo las cosas con el personaje principal, de manera que estarás enganchado a la peli desde el inicio hasta su violento final! Para cerrar, creo que le hizo algo de falta que aclararan las intenciones de la mama de gio. Que explicaran un poco mas ese lado de la historia no habría estado mal, pero dejando eso de lado todo bien. This film tells us about the dangerous night that the protagonist must go through to celebrate the memory of his father, who died under suspicious circumstances, with his eccentric and peculiar family. All this, while he brings the birthday cake to enjoy at the end of dinner.

I loved the style of this movie. The personality, colors and direction are great. The camera is always very close to the main characters creating claustrophobia and making you have an immersive experience in the film. The neon lights constantly illuminating the situations give a solid personality to this film since they are always present in some way -the lighting is amazing, they take great care of the details and it is one of the aspects that I enjoy the most about this film-.

The cast is another of the strong points in this film. There are strong names like Ewan McGregor -who some may know as Obi-Wan Kenobi. By the way, the Kenobi mini series will soon be released! And I'm excited about this! - William Fichtner, who I haven't seen in such an intense role in a while and this one was amazing. The main role is in the hands of Shiloh Fernandez and his fear, discomfort and despair carry the weight of the film to perfection. And save a surprise for last! We will also have Val Kilmer, who returned to the screen with a role made to measure that he will leave them cold every time he appears. God what a good character Kilmer has in this movie!

A dealer like this would only work with a good story, and this movie has it. It is very well written and it releases the details little by little so that you will discover things with the main character, so that you will be hooked on the movie from the beginning to its violent end! To close, I think he needed something to clarify the intentions of gio's mother. Explaining that side of the story a little more would not have been bad, but leaving that aside all good.
