Music the Gathering is an original, interactive, and energetic folk music comedy show. Inspired by role-playing, tabletop, and video games, Music the Gathering features a band of musicians who tell fantastical stories through a vast repertoire of one-of-a-kind arrangements that feature full harmonies and instrumentals. Our tagline, “Let’s Play!” is twofold: Not only do we play an array of traditional, world, bawdy, and original music, but we play games on stage as well!

There are different songs and games in each set, and every show comes complete with kooky characters, plot twists, heckling, jokes, riddles, puns, toasts, and often even surprise collaborations with fellow musicians! The show’s playful energy and silly spontaneity allows for a fresh revitalization of traditional folk music, and for the musicians and audiences of all ages to gather together to create a unique entertainment experience.
