This song came to my mind about 15 years ago while I was with my ex. She was so beautiful, quite dark complexioned, so articulate and intellectual too. Our love affair lasted for three months until I found out that she traveled to Lagos to participate in a beauty pageant in Lagos. A month later I was told that she had moved to the UK. We both come from humble beginnings and were more like childhood friends before we started dating each other with the expectation of taking our relationship to the next level later in life, before her sudden trip.

This song reminds me of the promise we made to each other to never part ways. Yes, she married another man in the UK ten years ago. Even though my expectations changed in the direction I never expected, life goes on.

This is my entry to the second round of week 122 of the Hive music festival. Thanks for the time on tour and have a great time.

Esta canción me vino a la mente hace unos 15 años mientras estaba con mi ex. Ella era tan hermosa, de tez bastante oscura, tan articulada e intelectual también. Nuestro romance duró tres meses hasta que me enteré de que ella viajó a Lagos para participar en un concurso de belleza en Lagos. Un mes después me dijeron que se había mudado al Reino Unido. Ambos venimos de orígenes humildes y éramos más bien amigos de la infancia antes de empezar a salir juntos con la expectativa de llevar nuestra relación al siguiente nivel más adelante en la vida, antes de su repentino viaje.

Esta canción me recuerda la promesa que nos hicimos el uno al otro de nunca separarnos. Sí, ella se casó con otro hombre en el Reino Unido hace diez años. Aunque mis expectativas cambiaron en la dirección que nunca esperé, la vida continúa.

Esta es mi entrada a la segunda ronda de la semana 122 del festival de música Hive. Gracias por el tiempo de gira y que la pasen genial.
