Crypto is the theme of Episode 2 🤑

The second episode of The Anarchists on HBO Max was released this week. To my surprise, they mentioned Steemit multiple times and even showed screenshots of people's blogs where I saw many familiar names.

HBO Max has around 77 million subscribers worldwide, so that is a lot of people that could potentially become interested in cryptocurrency for the first time thanks to this new show.

It is painful to see Steemit on a show that has the potential to be very popular, especially since pretty much everybody on Hive knows what happened over there. I find it hard to imagine very many people will take the time to do the research and find out that https://hive.io/ is now the place to be.

Getting crypto in the eyes of so many people like this has to be a good thing. My girlfriend for instance has been loving this show and she had zero interest in cryptocurrency before it. She has been learning quite a bit from the show and I imagine many others will too. Now I can't say it's pushed her to go out and create her own Bitcoin wallet or anything, but at least she is becoming more familiar with the topic. I think that she is most interested in the drama aspect of the show than anything.

Speaking of drama, there is a lot of it in this docu-series. All of these anarchists start to gather in Acapulco, Mexico and they have similar ideas but are very different people. Things go well for a while, but eventually, turmoil develops and separation between many of the different group members ensues. You can tell that a lot of these people in the show really just do not like each other.

I am hoping that as more episodes are released, they will eventually get into the fact that pretty much everyone that used to be on Steemit is now over here on Hive. I don't have high hopes that they will mention Hive at all though, considering it is not really a part of this story outside of Jeff Berwick and his Vigilante.tv website that now runs on Hive.

If you are curious to learn more about all of this stuff, I have included in the video screenshots of most of the Hive usernames of all of the characters in the show. This will allow you to look back on all of their old blogs and get insider info that maybe wasn't in the show. They were posting about all of this stuff as it was happening, but have since disappeared from the platform, besides Jeff Berwick.
