Espero hayan tenido una provechosa semana. Para los que no me conocen, mi nombre es Lisa María Blanco, soy artista cubana. Hoy quisiera compartir con ustedes un nuevo video de música clásica y por supuesto les comento un poco sobre la obra y su compositor.

I hope you had a useful week. For those who do not know me, my name is Lisa María Blanco, I am a Cuban artist. Today I would like to share with you a new classical music video and of course I will tell you a little about the work and its composer.

Un poco de historia

Robert Schumann, compositor, pianista y crítico musical nacido en Alemania en el año 1810 y reconocido como uno de los compositores más importantes del estilo musical ¨Romanticismo¨.

Robert Schumann, composer, pianist and music critic born in Germany in 1810 and recognized as one of the most important composers of the "Romanticism" musical style.

Sobre la obra

Se trata de las Variaciones sobre el tema ¨Abegg¨ op. 1 compuestas en 1830 y dedicadas a una familia de amigos suyos en Mannheim. El apellido familiar era Abegg y el tema principal son las notas musicales que conforman el apellido: A(la) B(si) E(mi) G(sol) G(sol). Es una obra tremendamente hermosa y de una complejidad alta en cuanto a interpretación y virtuosismo.

About the work

It is the Variations on the theme ¨Abegg¨ op. 1 composed in 1830 and dedicated to a family of his friends in Mannheim. The family surname was Abegg and the main theme is the musical notes that make up the surname: A(la) B(si) E(mi) G(sol) G(sol). It is a tremendously beautiful work and highly complex in terms of interpretation and virtuosity.

Fue grabado en la Sala Argeliers León del Centro Nacional de Música de Concierto en el mes de diciembre pasado.

It was recorded in the Argeliers León Hall of the National Concert Music Center last December.
