Introducción

¡Hola! ¿Qué tal, crypto amigos? ¿Cómo están? ¡Yo espero que muy bien! En el día de hoy vengo a traerles, como habrán visto en el título, un nuevo juego retro para el canal, su nombre es Earthworm Jim 2 o más conocido por la lombriz espacial. Un juego que realmente es muy extraño, creo que uno de los mas raros que jugué de pequeño por el simple echo de que, o sea, es una LOMBRIZ EN UN TRAJE DE ASTRONAUSTA, que carajo xdd. Y es que luego de jugarlo me empecé a dar cuenta de ciertas cuestiones que de chico no, obviamente uno ya siendo mayor le pasan estas cosas, pero después me puse a pensar: "¿Enserio jugaba esto de chico? Con razón tanto trauma. Me gustaría aclarar que quise jugar al 1, pero no tuve como hacerlo funcionar en la PC, si pude hacerlo con el 2.

Earthworm Jim 2 salió en el año 1995-1996 y es el típico juego plataformero de la época donde nos tocaba ir avanzando por diferentes tipos de escenarios y enemigos para progresar en la aventura ¿El objetivo?, rescatar a la princesa What's her name. Como les digo, es un juego típico de esos años al más puro estilo de Mario, Sonic, etc.

Ahora me imagino que se estarán preguntando "¿Por qué habrá traído éste tipo de contenido inusual para el blog?", bueno esto se debe a que mi gran amigo @ilazramusic trae hoy para nosotros, en su evento "Ready Player Hive", una iniciativa ESPECTACULAR. Se trata de traer un personaje que te haya parecido raro o extraño, puede ser tanto un protagonista como un antagonista o personaje secundario, el que sea, pero uno que te haya parecido raro. En este link te voy a dejar la publicación para que vayas a verla si queres mas información del tema.

Earthworm Jim, una lombriz con suerte

Jim tenía una vida muy dura, como todo gusano de tierra, no dejarse comer por todo lo que se mueva, generalmente eran unos cuervos, o eso me acuerdo del primer juego. Pero ni el sabía lo que el destino le deparaba, un traje espacial de ultra tecnología cae del cielo y casi que lo aplasta. Gracias a esto, el gusano se transforma y convierte en un superhéroe. Físicamente, Jim había quedado con un super cuerpo todo musculado y la cabeza de una lombriz, algo que en lo personal se ve muy raro y asqueroso xd. En lo que respecta a personalidad siempre fue una criatura valiente y caballeresca, dispuesto a darlo todo para salvar a sus seres queridos, en este caso la princesa, ya que aparentemente también adoptó la forma de ser de un superhéroe. Sin darse cuenta, era el salvador del espacio exterior.

Un poco de historia

¿Cómo es que Jim conoce a la princesa? La Reina Slug ordena la construcción de éste traje que es robado y accidentalmente cae justamente encima de nuestro protagonista, es ahí cuando ocurre la transformación. La Reina manda a su cazarrecompensas Psy-crow a buscar el traje ya que era necesario para sus planes malévolos. Este encuentra el lugar donde estaba el traje y le cuenta a la Reina que está a punto de recuperarlo. Jim, que se encontraba escondido escuchándolo, se entera de esto y de la belleza de la princesa What's her name, ansiado por conocerla, Jim sube a un cohete y despega hacia el espacio para buscarla antes de que el cazarrecompensas Psy-Crow lo encuentre a Él. Y es ahí donde comienzan las aventuras de nuestro valiente gusano de tierra, Jim.

Gameplay

La historia que he contado es sobre el primer juego ya que, a pesar de haber jugado el 2, me pareció pertinente contarlo todo desde los inicios.

En su segunda entrega, Jim ya se encuentra en el espacio combatiendo con alienígenas que claramente obedecen las órdenes de la Reina Slug. Jim se defiende con su cabeza, o la propia lombriz, pegando con ella como si fuera un látigo, bajo mi parecer es el golpe más efectivo para derrotar a enemigos pequeños.

Otra de sus opciones para atacar a los malos eran unas armas que podías ir agarrando en el camino, una de ellas es esta con forma de casa que, aparentemente, es autodirigidle. He ahí el porque de su poca munición, la misma figura abajo a la izquierda al lado del simbolito de la casa.

Jim no estaba sólo, tenía como compañía a un moco verde llamado Snot. Él le proporcionaba a Jim la posibilidad de caer de ciertas alturas usando un tipo paracaídas realizando una cierta combinación de botones. Snot puede considerarse un moco o un slime, pero al fin y al cabo también es un bicho raro y feo del juego, otro de tantos xdd.

Además Snot lo ayuda para poder treparse de ciertas estructuras donde cae una mucosa verde asquerosa, tal como Él xdd. Realmente, a pesar de que es desagradable, el moco Snot es una gran ayuda para nuestro amigo Jim en sus aventuras por el espacio.

Conclusión

Jim es un personaje asqueroso, muy desagradable además de ser muy bizarro. El juego en sí también es muy extraño, presenta mapas con colores raros, estructuras con caras, aliens que parecen enanos arriba de unas naves que también son enanas, en un momento del gameplay (perdon por el spoiler) aparece un gato gigante todo musculoso, también hay cerdos en el espacio, o sea es un juego que realmente acompaña al personaje en ser uno de los mas extraños que he jugado de pequeño y es por eso que decidí traerlo hoy para ustedes como un personaje bizarro o extraño y, como ya dije más arriba, realmente no me di cuenta de que tan extraño era hasta que me puse a jugarlo de nuevo ayer ya que de pequeño no me daba cuenta de estos detalles.

No me queda más que agradecer a mi gran amigo @ilazramusic por traer ésta increíble iniciativa a la Ready Player Hive, es increíble como todo el tiempo en el video decía "ahh ahora me acuerdo" o "que recuerdos porfavor", realmente ha logrado que despierte en mí el niño que tenía dormido y que extrañaba estos juegos retros increíbles.

A game that is really very strange, I think one of the strangest that I played as a child for the simple fact that, that is, it is an EARTHWORM IN AN ASTRONAUT SUIT, what the hell xdd. And it is that after playing it I began to realize certain issues that as a boy I did not, obviously these things happen to you when you are older, but then I started to think: "Did I really play this as a boy? No wonder so much trauma. I I would like to clarify that I wanted to play 1, but I couldn't make it work on the PC, if I could do it with 2.

Earthworm Jim 2 came out in 1995-1996 and is the typical platform game of the time where we had to advance through different types of scenarios and enemies to progress in the adventure. The objective? To rescue the princess What's her name. As I say, it is a typical game of those years in the purest style of Mario, Sonic, etc.

Now I imagine that you are wondering "Why have you brought this type of unusual content to the blog?" Well this is because my great friend @ilazramusic brings us today, in his "Ready Player Hive" event, a SPECTACULAR initiative. It is about bringing a character that has seemed strange or strange to you, it can be both a protagonist and an antagonist or secondary character, whatever it is, but one that has seemed strange to you. Earthworm Jim, a lucky earthworm

Jim had a very hard life, like any earthworm, he didn't let himself be eaten by anything that moved, they were usually crows, or that's what I remember from the first game. But neither he nor he knew what fate had in store for him, an ultra-tech spacesuit falls from the sky and almost crushes him. Thanks to this, the worm transforms and becomes a superhero. Physically, Jim had been left with a super muscular body and the head of an earthworm, something that personally looks very strange and disgusting xd. In terms of personality, he was always a brave and chivalrous creature, willing to give everything to save his loved ones, in this case the princess, since apparently he also adopted the way of being a superhero. Without realizing it, he was the savior from outer space.

A bit of history

How does Jim know the princess? The Slug Queen orders the construction of this suit that is stolen and accidentally falls right on top of our protagonist, that's when the transformation occurs. The Queen sends her bounty hunter Psy-crow to fetch the suit as it was necessary for her evil plans. He finds the place where the suit was and tells the Queen that he is about to get it back. Jim, who was hiding listening to him, finds out about this and the beauty of the princess What's her name, longing to meet her, Jim boards a rocket and takes off into space to search for her before the bounty hunter Psy-Crow finds him. Him. And that's where the adventures of our brave earthworm, Jim, begin.

Gameplay

The story that I have told is about the first game since, despite having played 2, it seemed pertinent to tell everything from the beginning.

In the second installment of it, Jim is already in space fighting aliens who clearly obey the orders of the Slug Queen. Jim defends himself with his head, or the worm itself, hitting with it as if it were a whip, in my opinion it is the most effective blow to defeat small enemies.

Another of his options to attack the bad guys were some weapons that you could grab on the road, one of them is this one in the shape of a house that, apparently, is self-directed. That is the reason for his low ammunition, the same figure on the bottom left next to the little symbol of the house.

Jim was not alone, he had a green booger named Snot as a company. He provided Jim with the ability to fall from certain heights using a parachute type by performing a certain combination of buttons. Snot can be considered a booger or a slime, but at the end of the day he is also a weird and ugly bug in the game, another one of many xdd.

In addition, Snot helps him to climb certain structures where a disgusting green mucus falls, just like him xdd. Really, although it is unpleasant, the Snot booger is a great help to our friend Jim in his adventures through space.

Conclusion

Jim is a disgusting character, very unpleasant as well as being very bizarre. The game itself is also very strange, it presents maps with strange colors, structures with faces, aliens that look like dwarfs on top of some ships that are also dwarfs, at one point in the gameplay (sorry for the spoiler) a giant cat appears, all muscular, there are also pigs in space, that is, it is a game that really accompanies the character in being one of the strangest that I have played as a child and that is why I decided to bring him today for you as a bizarre or strange character and, as I already said above, I really didn't realize how weird it was until I played it again yesterday as I didn't notice these details as a kid.

Final words

I only have to thank my great friend @ilazramusic for bringing this incredible initiative to the Ready Player Hive, it's incredible how all the time in the video he said "ahh now I remember" or "what memories please", he has really achieved that wake up the child in me who was asleep and who missed these amazing retro games.
