Hello HIVERS, this is my entry for the community contest “Worst Gaming Experience”
Ok, first things first.
Right now I'm on my 30s and since my childhood I've been playing a lot of video games, from the Atari, passing through NES, SNES, Playstation, Xbox and finally PS4.
I've been a console gamer all my life until early this year (more precisely, on February 2020), I got my PS4 stolen along with the TV (and, awkwardly the AC's controller, I don't know why but also got stolen).
I was in shock because it was the first time someone broke into my home, I couldn't believe it.
Weeks passed and I ended up playing phone games on Android.
I even started a Facebook page where I uploaded some gameplays, because for me it was more easy to record and upload them from the phone.
At first it was OK playing some PUBG Mobile or Call Of Duty Mobile, they are good games, don't feel crippled if you don't spend money on those games, they are just skins you get to buy, and the action and gameplay are fine (except for the touch controllers, you need time to get used to them).
But at some point you will get boring playing the same games over and over again, so I decided to give it a try a new game that was released on the same week, this game was War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
WOTVFFBE is a game that inspires nostalgia, if you played Final Fantasy Tactics or FF Tactics Advance you will get it.
I probably upload like from 20 to 30 non-commentary WOTV:FFBE gameplays on my Facebook page which I'm still getting a couple of views for them.
This game is a turn based strategy game, you level up your characters in order to get them stronger and fight enemies and monsters. At first, it was all exciting, I was amazed with all the "bells and whistles" but at some point in the game the "Autoplay" button was enabled (that was the first alert that I gladly ignore).
The story was OK to me, the acting voices were exceptional. The plot was very involving and want you to know more. But unfortunately the Story was not completed, you will have to wait to the next event or "season" which were every month or so. In the meanwhile I had to level the characters but you only level up with resources, those resources can only be obtained through missions that consume energy which was scarce. And because of that the GRIND was so annoying. Yes, there is the option to pay for that resources/materials but I'm still considered a console gamer, I refused to pay for something that would not have a real value, so I GRIND for probably a month until I get frustrated and only log to the game for the daily missions and rewards.
And I forgot to mention that some characters are just weak and you have to spend in-game premium currency (called Visiore) in order to "Summon" or acquire those special and stronger characters. Visiore can only be obtained though daily login or first time missions.
After another month of grind, I left the game and decided that I would not be caught in their game of micro-transactions thing.
I never pay for micro-transactions and never will.
