¡Hola queridos amigos y amigas!

Hoy vengo a compartir un video de un concierto virtual que realicé hace un tiempo atrás. Mi meta es compartirles las cuatro piezas que interpreté en este concierto, por lo tanto, y a modo de serie, esta es la primera publicación de cuatro que haré en los próximos días. Toda la música es de mi autoría.
El título de esta pieza es "Mimu". Es un juego de palabras entre "Mi Musa" y "Mi Mulata" como me gusta decirle a veces a mi esposa (una de las más bellas obras de arte que ha dado la naturaleza cubana). Es una pieza en la cual quise describir el carácter jovial y danzable de Yuyu Vega (mi esposa). Al ser ella bailarina, quise plasmar este elemento en música a través del empleo de recursos rítmicos de la música popular cubana (guaguancó y macuta) y mezclarlos con las sonoridades melódico-armónicas-instrumentales-improvisativas del jazz.
Tuve el privilegio de contar con excelentes músicos y amigos.

Hello dear friends!

Today, I come to share a video of a virtual concert I did a while ago. My goal is to share with you the four pieces that I performed in this concert, therefore, and as a series, this is the first publication of four that I will make in the next few days. All music is my own.
The title of this piece is "Mimu". It is a play on words between "My Muse" and "My Mulata" as I sometimes like to call my wife (one of the most beautiful works of art that Cuban nature has given). It is a piece in which I wanted to describe the jovial and danceable character of Yuyu Vega (my wife). Because she's a dancer, I wanted to capture this element in music through the use of rhythmic resources of Cuban popular music (guaguancó and macuta) and mix them with the melodic-harmonic-instrumental-improvisational sounds of jazz.
I had the privilege of having excellent musicians and friends.
