For some time now there have been some ideas that have been going around in my head...

The premise of documenting little known social dynamics has always called my attention, since a long time ago when I got involved with graffiti I was thinking about the possibility of documenting those activities so organic and countercultural, those dynamics born from the passion of youth, which often come loaded with social criticism based on situations that we all live day by day.

And therein lies what many ignore, and what I would like to show to all the curious and gossipy alike.

What lies beyond that moment, that ephemeral instant in which you stumble upon a graffiti that catches your attention, or the skillful tightrope walker who teeters on the tightrope without insurance.

Without health insurance, and without economic certainty that his performance -and his risk- will be rewarded with anything more than an astonished glance from a pedestrian.

This is the first episode of a documentary series on urban arts that I am filming in the streets of Lima, Peru.

"Urban Juggling: A Decentralized Art"

We've all seen those boys and girls on the street corners of our big Latin American cities, probably some of you have helped them with a coin or two but....

Who are they? Where do they come from? When do they leave?
And if they are such good artists, why don't they go to work in a circus?

The city of Lima, capital of Peru, has become the epicenter of urban juggling in Latin America, with more and more self-managed spaces for the dissemination and practice of the different technical disciplines that these artists (?) expose as a way of life and resistance.

In this journey, we will challenge the conventional perspective, we will break down the barriers between street art and the traditional stage, we will immerse ourselves in the stories and challenges of some artists, because beyond the minute of show at the traffic light that everyone looks at, there are young people carrying dreams and hopes that have learned to live life at a pace that few know...

Together, we will unveil the scroll of experiences that have forged the character of the man, and the skills of the artist.

We will listen to stories of journeys through lost villages, of friends who became companions, of companions who became brothers and sisters.

Of closed doors that magically opened, giving way to paths that were made as we walked.... Stories of goals accomplished.

Let's unravel together the enigmas of this way of living and feeling, let's explore together each artistic expression and let's listen to the opinion of the public, of the spectators of urban art, that connection that makes us all belong to this vibrant urban symphony.

This is a journey that goes far beyond the asphalt and the streets, it begins with the artist and ends with the viewer.

As good art that is appreciated...

Desde hace un tiempo hay algunas ideas que han estado rondando mi cabeza...

La premisa de documentar dinámicas sociales poco conocidas siempre ha llamado mi atención, desde hace mucho tiempo atrás cuando me involucré con el grafiti pensaba en la posibilidad de documentar esas actividades tan orgánicas y contraculturales, esas dinámicas nacidas de la pasión la juventud, que muchas veces vienen cargadas de crítica social fundamentada en situaciones que día a día vivimos todos.

Y ahí está lo que muchos ignoran, y lo que me gustaría mostrar a todos los curiosos y chismosos por igual.

Lo que hay más allá de ese momento, de ese instante efímero en el que te tropiezas con un grafitie que llama tu atención, o con el habilidoso equilibrista que se tambalea en la cuerda floja sin seguro.

Sin seguro médico, y sin seguro económico de que su presentación -y su riesgo- vaya a ser retribuido más que con una mirada asombrada de algún peatón.

Este es el primer episodio de una serie documental sobre las artes urbanas que estoy grabando por las calles de Lima Perú.

"Malabares Urbanos: Un Arte Descentralizado"

Todos hemos visto a esos chicos y chicas en las esquinas de nuestras grandes ciudades latinoamericanas, probablemente algunos de ustedes les han colaborado con alguna moneda o dos pero...

¿Quiénes son? ¿De dónde vienen? ¿Cuándo se van?
¿Y si son tan buenos artistas por qué mejor no se van a trabajar en un circo?

La ciudad de Lima, Capital del Perú se ha convertido en epicentro del malabarismo urbano en latinoamérica, con cada vez más espacios autogestionados para la difusión y práctica de las diferentes disciplinas técnicas que estos artistas (?) exponen como forma de vida y de resistencia.

En este viaje, desafiaremos la perspectiva convencional, derribaremos las barreras entre el arte callejero y el escenario tradicional, nos sumergiremos en las historias y los retos de algunos artistas, porque más allá del minuto de show en el semáforo que todos miran, ahí hay jóvenes portadores de sueños y esperanzas que han aprendido a vivir la vida aun ritmo que pocos conocen...

Juntos, desvelaremos el pergamino de experiencias que han forjado el carácter del hombre, y las habilidades del artista.

Escucharemos historias de viajes por pueblos perdidos, de amigos que se vuelven compañeros, de compañeros que se vuelven hermanos.

De puertas cerradas que se abrieron mágicamente, dando lugar a caminos que se hicieron al andar... Historias de metas cumplidas.

Desentrañémos juntos los enigmas de esta forma de vivir y de sentir, exploremos juntos cada expresión artística y escuchemos la opinión del público, de los espectadores del arte urbano, ésa conexión que nos hace a todos pertenecer a esta vibrante sinfonía urbana.

Este es un viaje que va mucho más allá del asfalto y las calles, empieza en el artista y termina en el espectador.

I could not think of a better title for this beginning, for me it is impossible to ignore the similarities between the philosophical ideas that shape the global Bitcoiner movement and what we urban artists do.

Premises such as decentralization, voluntarism, net neutrality and several others are intertwined with these movements that have been making resistance throughout Latin America and across time.

We will go deeper into these aspects later, for now, share if you can, and above all, I look forward to your feedback!

No se me ocurrió un mejor título para este comienzo, para mi es imposible obviar las similitudes entre las ideas filosóficas que dan forma al movimiento Bitcoiner mundial y lo que los artistas urbanos hacemos.

Premisas como la descentralización, el voluntarismo, la neutralidad de la red y otras varias más se entrelazan con estos movimientos que vienen haciendo resistencia a lo largo de latinoamérica y lo ancho del tiempo.

Luego profundizaremos más en estos aspectos, por ahora, comparte si puedes, y sobre todo ¡Espero sus opiniones!
