    About :

After being homeschooled for three years, my oldest son will shortly start attending face-to-face classes. We went to the mall and purchased him his school supplies to get him ready.

Join us as we roam around the mall!

His teacher provided us with a list of supplies to buy when he was enrolled. Having a list is an excellent way to start your shopping! The most crucial thing is to follow that list as well! Let's check back on that later.

Not included in the given list but we need to buy are his bag, shoes, belt, and socks because he has already outgrown his old clothes that didn't fit anymore. Well, that's not surprising. He was in Kindergarten when he last attended in-person classes and he is now in Grade 3.

Everything is new. If it didn't get him pumped up, even a little bit, I don't know what else would. When I was in elementary school, I recall how excited I was to use my brand-new pencil and colors and get to class when it started.

Our first stop is the National Bookstore. It is a well-known bookstore and retailer of office and school products in the Philippines.

As soon as we walked into the bookstore, my oldest was beaming from ear to ear. He couldn't wait to choose his things. We allowed him to make his own decisions. Naturally, it made us nervous when he chose the priciest one out of the available options. He wasn't considering the cost. My husband and I were.😆

He took his time selecting his set of rulers after picking his set of notebooks. He was apparently looking for a specific set that he had seen on YouTube, but it wasn't there, so he had to pick another.

Before leaving the National Bookstore, we had already crossed everything off the list his teacher had given us. I didn't get any pictures because I was focused on keeping the youngest near and making sure he didn't cause any damage to save us money. Parents can relate to this. lol

To look for his bag and shoes, we went to the mall's top floor. My husband and I had intended to get him a trolley bag so he wouldn't have to lift his bulky bag full of books, but the child had other ideas.

He was still undecided despite the fact that we had already checked every corner with trolley bags. It came out that he had changed his mind about using the trolley bag. He claimed he was old enough to not use bags with wheels. Now he preferred a backpack without wheels. It took him some time to express what he wanted—a bag for the big boys.

    The bag of his choice.

We let him choose from among the many backpacks on display as we stood back and watched him make his decision before coming back to us. We were nervous that his choice would leave us broke, as there were bags as expensive as $200! LOL He carried that blue bag back with him. I questioned him over his selection. He said he liked it because it had a lot of pockets inside. Thank goodness that bag was less than 20 bucks! We saved some money! Hooray! The quality is also good! Fantastic choice, child!

The shoes are up next! Before leaving the house, he had already informed us what he wanted on his shoes, so we knew what to look for. He said he does like shoes with shoelaces as it takes time to put on. He wants shoes that are easy to wear or slip on.

After selecting the appropriate shoe size. We continued to walk around.

We went by the mall's cookware area. Things will spiral out of control at this point. lol

I was looking at some spoons for nonstick pans when a salesman approached me and said they were having a sale on stoneware cooking pans. I have a weakness for huge discount sales. So help me God.

We end up buying things that were not on the shopping list! It's even more costly than what's on the list! Dang sale! If it's any consolation, I need a high-quality pan to cook my kids a delicious breakfast before they leave for school, right? Right?

    IMG_20220813_134719.jpg

Conclusion. It's difficult to stick to a shopping list, therefore it's best to refrain from making one. Lol.

Thank you so much for reading!

    Until next time!
