Hola Hiver's ! espero se encuentren muy bien, por que hoy les traigo este fragmento de un solo que hice en una canción de la banda Periphery llamada Sentient Glow en su álbum titulado Hail Stan en un solo al estilo Shred.

Hello Hiver's ! I hope you are feeling well, because today I bring you this fragment of a solo I did in a song of the band Periphery called Sentient Glow in their album titled Hail Stan a solo in the style of Shred.

Esta es una de las bandas de metal moderno mas influyentes en su genero Djent o como dicen en algunos lados como Math Rock. Tiene sus influencias del metal progresivo como Dream Theater pero usando también influencias del metal extremo, tal como los fundadores del genero Djent como la banda Meshuggah, bordeando desde el Death Metal en casi todas sus variantes, incorporando riff de guitarras bastantes técnicos en un ambiente Prog con sintetizadores.

This is one of the most influential modern metal bands in their genre Djent or as they say in some places as Math Rock. It has its influences from progressive metal like Dream Theater but using also influences from extreme metal, such as the founders of the genre Djent like the band Meshuggah, bordering from Death Metal in almost all its variants, incorporating quite technical guitar riffs in a Prog atmosphere with synthesizers.

Particularmente solía escuchar esta banda con frecuencia aunque mi álbum favorito siempre fué el Periphery II: This Time It's Personal del año 2012, el cual recomiendo encarecidamente escuchar y es que una de las canciones que mas me cautivó fué la de Have a Blast en donde el gran Guthrie Govan participa en el solo de guitarra que nunca en ese momento dejé de escuchar pues es simplemente fantástico.

Particularly I used to listen to this band frequently although my favorite album was always Periphery II: This Time It's Personal from 2012, which I highly recommend listening to and one of the songs that captivated me the most was Have a Blast where the great Guthrie Govan participates in the guitar solo that I never stopped listening to because it is simply fantastic.

En este sentido quise de alguna forma replicar la misma acción usando este tema de fondo en particular como backing track en donde uno de sus miembros, Mark Holcomb's toca la linea rítmica de la canción con acordes abiertos, lo cual es una apertura perfecta para un solo de guitarra.

In this sense I wanted to somehow replicate the same action by using this particular backing track as backing track where one of its members, Mark Holcomb's plays the rhythm line of the song with open chords, which is a perfect opening for a guitar solo.

En este post decidí hablar respecto al sonido de guitarra que usé para grabarme en este vídeo. Yo uso una interface M-Audio Fast Track usando el programa Amplitube 4 que me sirve para emular los amplificadores como el Red Pig que es una emulación digital del Marshall JCM-800 en la siguiente configuración:

In this post I decided to talk about the guitar sound I used to record myself in this video. I use an M-Audio Fast Track interface using the Amplitube 4 program which I use to emulate amplifiers such as the Red Pig which is a digital emulation of the Marshall JCM-800 in the following configuration:

El amplificador tiene una buena resolución de distorsión en este caso aunque use el pedal ODC para variar un poco esa señal pastosa (por llamarlo de alguna manera) a un tono más medioso variando los niveles de volumen y drive del pedal a continuación:

The amp has a good distortion resolution in this case even though I used the ODC pedal to vary that mushy (so to speak) signal a bit to a more mid-range tone by varying the volume and drive levels of the pedal below:

La configuración del gabinete la dejé por defecto con ambos micrófonos cerca de la malla:

Prefiero usar los rack's con reverb a diferencia del los pedales, con la siguiente configuración:

I prefer to use the rack's with reverb as opposed to the pedals, with the following configuration:

El sonido del vídeo viene directo del micrófono del teléfono y tocando encima de la pista. No se uso ningún programa de grabación de audio adicional y debo acotar que toda la versión del solo es de mi autoría.

The sound of the video comes directly from the phone's microphone and playing over the track. No additional audio recording software was used and I must point out that the whole version of the solo is my own.
