Last Wednesday I took you on a tour of the Buchan Caves Reserve Campground where my little navigator and I- Indy Jean, and I set up camp in the cold and wet for a couple of days here https://peakd.com/hive-155530/@chocolatescorpi/wenesday-walk-in-the-wilds-of-victorias-buchan-valley but that didn't spoil our fun as I had the chance to do something that I have wanted to do for a long long time and that my dear departed Mum wanted to do for decades but never had the chance to, so this is for you Mum.
with nervous anticipation, I followed the group of strangers, as we carefully made our way down into the DARK DEPTHS of the earth.
I was truly utterly exhausted from the emotional and traumatic rollercoaster that I had been through for the past few months with the illness and death of my dad, and I desperately wanted to go somewhere and have a couple of days' worth of peace, rest, and relaxation before getting back into the grind in Melbourne.
As I had driven past the turnoff to Buck caves 100 times over the last few years, each time desperately wanting to go in there but not having enough time, I decided that this was finally the time.
I was so tired there were even a few moments before I bought the ticket and even after I bought the ticket that I wanted to back out, but I forced myself to go, and I’m so glad I did.
So please excuse the heavy breathing during the video; not only was I exhausted after sitting in our hospital room with my dad every day for a good couple of months, but I wasn’t at my fittest, and it was actually really hot and humid in there too, even though it was so cold outside.
