    About :

    I am so interested with activities that only a few people do, out of the norm and unique. So I thought of trying POLE DANCING! Living in a very religious country and growing up with religious parents, it was hard to let them understand and accept why I chose pole dancing out of all the other sports. The stigma still exists but I hope someday people don't generalize or see it that way anymore. I've met people in pole class who were professionals, there were chemical engineers (3 of them are in this community too @proteancreator , @thegaillery, @anneporter ), lawyer, doctor, flight attendant, business owners etc.
    Pole dancing has so much benefits that you cannot find in other forms of workout/sport too.

    I want to share my FIRST POLE RECITAL that took place last October 2018. This was the product of my hard work to nail the tricks that I like, the product of my patience to listen to my body and not get easily frustrated, the product of endurance from tolerating the pain of skin friction, body sore and bruises, the product of my dedication to inspire people and encourage them to try this sport.

    I was really nervous and it is obvious in how I look as I danced haha. I am still trying to overcome my fear of attention and stage frights. And God knows how anxious I was and scared of falling. I don't know if you were able to spot it but I did almost fall, glad my reflex saved me ahahah. But yeahhh I'm just happy that I was able to finish the whole routine without running away or backing out lol.

    Pole dancing helped me in a lot of ways. I am very shy and insecure of my body image. When I reach the studio and see the rest of the girls, they reminded me that we are all in this sport because we are working to improve our body and not criticize it, to be open and confident with how we are built and look. They showed me that I am safe and accepted. Our coaches were very supportive, sociable and treated us like family. They helped me believe in myself because they were very verbal in motivating us and giving advices so we can conquer our insecurities and worries. Their energy and positivity were very contagious which made me very comfortable and happy being with them. Achieving routines and tricks make me so proud of my body's strength and flexibility. It became my outlet to release stress and frustrations, one of my source of happiness and a place to chill and forget my problems.

    Pole dancing is EMPOWERING! My confidence, mental health, physical abilities, and my body all improved because of this sport!

    I am still in this sport and will be sharing more of my pole journey. I can't wait to see myself grow in this sport and improve. I wish to have my own pole studio soon!
