Knifetail River Waterfall in Pingtung, Taiwan | An amazing adventure!

Last year of February 2020 just 1 week before I leave for the Philippines, my older brother took me on a hiking adventure in taiwan [//]:# (!pinmapple 22.515348 lat 120.692034 long d3scr)!

I was hesitant at first because of an experience I had here in Cebu hiking with my ex-boyfriend and his friends which I think was traumatic because halfway through our trail, it was raining so hard, trail was getting muddy and slippery, we had no proper guide and there were parts where we got lost lol.

But this time, I said I wouldn't miss the chance to go on an adventure with my brother and bond with him more through his favorite sport, hiking and chasing waterfalls all over taiwan!

By the way, that time I went to Taiwan to study Mandarin last Aug 2019. It was also my FIRST TIME (after soo many years of praying for this!) to meet my half siblings (older brother and older sister) from my dad's first wife. They were 7-10 years older than me. So it was a really significant trip because I got to know them.

I want to show you how amazing my first hiking experience in Taiwan was! Most of the clips were recorded by my brother. When you reach 1:38 of the video, he is the one wearing blue and holding the controller of his drone.

I just wanted to share this too because I am dying to go to Taiwan and visit my family again. Hopefully the world heals and we can all reunite, see and hug our family and friends freely. huhuhu

The hike lasted for around 4-5 hours. Most of the way was flat but there are parts where we had to climb up and down and balance in big and slippery rocks. I had to overcome my fear of heights and control my overthinking brain that I might slip and fall. Along the way, we saw an eagle that flew so close right before our eyes! He was so beautiful! There were lots of butterflies too! When we reached the main waterfalls (there were a lot of mini waterfalls along the way), the water was too cold for us to swim, so I just fed the fishes with the little bread I had. We stayed there for around 30 minutes only and had to go back down because we kind of started late. In that 30 mins., my brother started playing with his drone, his friends brought portable stove to make some tea, we put out all our food to eat and just enjoyed the sound of the waterfalls, the birds and the scenery.
