El panorama deportivo se ha visto fuertemente eclipsado por el actual conflicto bélico Rusia-Ucrania y parece que esta situación tendrá al margen gran parte del desarrollo de las actividades en distintas disciplinas. En el ajedrez este tema se destaca especialmente puesto que la lista de jugadores afiliados provenientes de estos países no es poca, además de que la historia del deporte ciencia en el suelo exsoviético es de los mayores hitos del mundo deportivo.

Vistos todos los acontecimientos que han tenido lugar en el último mes, las directrices en términos de organización de eventos ha dado un considerable giro. Los patrocinantes y demás esferas de influencia que apoyan a la Federación Internacional de Ajedrez (FIDE) penden de un hilo y no parece que la situación vaya a mejorar en el corto plazo. Sin duda, estos temas son de mucho interés para los fanáticos de las 64 casillas y personas afines al deporte en general. En el episodio de hoy tratamos estos aspectos con el mayor esfuerzo por el respeto y la objetividad deportiva, dejando por fuera la politización del asunto.

Estaremos abordando, entre otras cosas, 1) la suspensión de las Olimpiadas de ajedrez de 2022, la competencia más grande en el calendario FIDE que ya no se realizará en Rusia; 2) el como sede de este magno evento, 3) la exclusión de Rusia y Bielorrusia del ciclo competitivo de la FIDE, 4) la posición del presidente de la FIDE Arkady Dvorkovich a favor de la paz y 5) la prohibición a Sergey Karjakin de participar en el torneo de candidatos tras haber sido sancionado y suspendido. Esta es una noticia muy significativa, pues es una situación sin precedentes y este jugador ruso de origen ucraniano se perfilaba como uno de los favoritos en la ruta al match por el título mundial.

The sports panorama has been strongly overshadowed by the current Russia-Ukraine war and it seems that this situation will have a great part of the development of the activities in different disciplines on the sidelines. In chess this issue stands out especially since the list of affiliated players coming from these countries is not small, besides the history of the science sport in the ex-Soviet soil is one of the greatest milestones in the sports world.

In view of all the events that have taken place in the last month, the guidelines in terms of event organization have taken a considerable turn. Sponsors and other spheres of influence that support the International Chess Federation (FIDE) are hanging by a thread and it does not seem that the situation is going to improve in the short term. Undoubtedly, these issues are of great interest to fans of the 64 squares and people related to the sport in general. In today's episode we deal with these aspects with the utmost effort for respect and sports objectivity, leaving out the politicalization of the issue.

We will be addressing, among other things, 1) the suspension of the 2022 Chess Olympiads, the biggest competition in the FIDE calendar, which will no longer be held in Russia; 2) the offer of India to host this great event, 3) the exclusion of Russia and Belarus from the FIDE competitive cycle, 4) the position of FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich in favor of peace and 5) the case of Sergey Karjakin who has been sanctioned and banned from playing the Candidates Tournament. This is very significant news, since it is an unprecedented situation and this Russian player of Ukrainian origin was emerging as one of the favorites on the road to the match for the world title.
