The health benefits of Gizzards cannot be over emphasized. They contain so many vitamins including B12, and are popularly known to improve brain function. I personally love gizzards plus, they tastes sooo good! Let’s jump right into it!
Ingredients
Bell peppers
Scotch Bonnets
Cubes to taste
Salt to taste
Thyme
Curry powder
Turmeric
Gizzard (1kilo)
2 medium sized red onions
Blended crayfish
Ginger
Garlic cloves
Preparation
First of all, I clean and slice all my veggies and set them aside.
I start with steaming the gizzards with onion slices, salt, scotch bonnet, crayfish, seasoning cubes, thyme, curry and turmeric powders.
I like to leave a little stock for the main cooking.
After the steaming process, I take out a clean pot and pour the right amount of vegetable oil. I start frying more sliced onions together with ginger and garlic.
Next, I add the vegetables, from bell peppers to carrots, then a little more blended scotch bonnet, because I love my meals spicy. While I’m still at it, I add the Gizzard stock, then top up salt and seasoning cubes, to taste. Next, I add the crayfish, then the gizzard.
I allow to boil together for 5 minutes so the veggies don’t get all soft.
An extra tip is to marinade with all the seasonings, for about 30 minutes before steaming.
I hope you found this helpful.
Happy Monday guys!
