Rule Sets: Earthquake and Unprotected
This is an interesting match that took full advantage of the rule sets. In this match up, I’m up against a Thaddius Brood. Similarly, I’m also using a Thaddius Brood which means that both my opponent and I choose to use the death splinter.
But although we both used the death splinter, our strategies couldn’t more different. One of the biggest differences in our strategies was that my opponent went full offence while I choose to be defensive. His strategy was most likely to destroy my entire team before the Earthquake destroys his team.
That being said, with just 13 mana to work with, our options were very limited as such going full offence while ignoring Earthquake was a terrible idea because even if I don’t do anything, his monster would still suffer damage. And with how the match went, I was right.
Anyhow, the MVP of this particular match was without doubt Riftwing. Although this monster couldn’t attack, it ability to Fly, and Scavenge(r) made it a very effective splinter in matches with the Earthquake and Noxious Fumes rule sets.
Moreover, not only does Riftwing’s ability to Fly save it from Earthquake, it also help the creature in dodging non-magical attacks, similar to how it dodges two of Curse Wendeku’s attacks in the video.
So yeah, Riftwing is definitely a great monster card to have which is why once the general sale arrives, I’ll be buying and leveling it up.
Anyways, that’s all for today. Thanks for reading and watching (the video).
