Greetings Hivers! we are back with another week of Hive Open Mic, we are already in week 62 on our way to week 100. For this week we proposed as theme "Healing Song ", it was a bit complicated for me to decide what to play because some of the options I had in mind, were developed by other people and it's worth mentioning that I loved their versions. Among them I could highlight the video of @daniel2001 performing a majestic version of the song "My Heart Will Go On ".

I love the theme, there is no moment of greater freedom and pleasure than feeding the soul with good music. Today I decided to bring you a piece by Jules Massenet from the opera "Thaïs ", this is an intermezzo that we can hear in Act II of the opera.

You can notice that at the beginning of the interpretation and until the end, I have left in the background the sound of the waves of the sea, I have had the joy of being able to sleep in front of the sea and with the dancing of the waves to rest in the most comforting sleep and therefore I thought it was great to add it to the track.

¡Saludos Hivers! volvemos con otra semana de Hive Open Mic, ya estamos en la semana 62 rumbo a la 100. Para esta semana se propuso como temática "Canción Curativa", se me complicó un poco decidir que tocar porque algunas de las opciones que tenía en mente, la desarrollaron otras personas y cabe destacar que me encantaron sus versiones. Entre una de ellas podría resaltar el video de @daniel2001 interpretando una majestuosa versión de la canción "My Heart Will Go On".

La temática me encanta, no existe momento de mayor libertad y placer que alimentar el alma con buena música. Hoy decidí traerles una pieza de Jules Massenet perteneciente a la opera "Thaïs", este es un intermezzo que podemos escuchar en el acto II de dicha opera.

Pueden notar que al inicio de la interpretación y hasta culminar, he dejado de fondo el sonido de las olas del mar, he tenido la dicha de poder dormir frente al mar y con el bailar de las olas reposar en el más reconfortante sueño y por ello me pareció estupendo agregarlo al track.

Editing Process

I started by recording the piece live, i.e. a piano track (sources at the end of the post) at the right volume and playing the violin, I used a condenser microphone and a Samsung J4 phone.

A single track which I equalised using the free version of the Reaper software and then proceeded to finish editing the video and all the final details using Filmora X.

Comencé con grabar la pieza en directo es decir, una pista de piano (las fuentes al final del post) con volumen adecuado y a tocar el violín se ha dicho, utilicé un micrófono condensador tipo balita y un teléfono Samsung J4.

Una única pista la cual equalicé utilizando la versión gratuita del software Reaper para luego proceder a terminar la edición del video y todos los detalles finales utilizando Filmora X.

Jules Émile Frédéric Massenet (Saint-Étienne, 12 May 1842 - Paris, 13 August 1912) was a French Romantic composer known mainly for his operas, which were very popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
