Well this was a fun video to make :).
This is the first time I have ever cooked something that turned out even better than I expected it would.
Today I tried making crispy salt and pepper beef and some egg fried rice to go with it.
The results were pretty outstanding and very very tasty!
This dish is simple and quick to prepare here is everything I used.
We have...
Extra lean diced steak.
Crushed chilli flakes
Black pepper
Salt
Curry powder
Plain flour
2 eggs
Seasoning which consists of oregano, basil, chives, dried garlic and dried onion.
First we combine our flour ,salt, pepper ,chill flakes and seasoning. I added around 2 teaspoons of curry powder to give it darker colour and a little extra flavour.
This is going to be the coating for our beef chunks.
Next we add our 2 eggs to a bowl and add a little milk.
Add a teaspoon or 2 of soy sauce.
Whisk the mix together. This is going to be our marinade.
Dip the beef in the egg mixture making sure its nicely coated.
Throw the egg coated chunks of beef into the seasoning.
Make sure each piece of beef has a nice thick coating.
Once the beef is coated its time to add it to the oil,make sure the oil is nice and hot before you start frying.
Let the beef sizzle away until its nice and crisp and golden brown.
It already looks and smells delicious :P
Now that the beef is ready its time to make some egg fried rice. I kept some
of the oil in the pan from frying the beef. This oil is loaded with flavour from the beef juices and seasoning and has crispy little bits of batter in it.This was the first time I tried this and it made the resulting fried rice taste AMAZING!
First legs add some egg and scramble it in our tasty oil...
To make good fried rice we use day old rice that's nice and dry. I had this prepared from the day before. We also want really high heat. The well seasoned beef oil also helps coat the rice beautifully.
This was hands down the best fried rice I've ever made :).
Now lets add our amazing fried rice and delicious crispy beef together and we have ourselves a VERY tasty meal.
This was my first time trying this recipe but it certainly wont be the last. Everyone in my house wanted to try some and everyone loved it.
I'm making this my new go to dish, it tastes great and is easy and quick to prepare.
