Hey Folks
Last week while I was down in York we wanted to check out the Jorvick centre which is an exhibition telling the story of York's Viking heritage.
Unfortunately due to the recently relaxed Covid regulations the exhibition was fully booked on the day we tried to visit. When we arrived there was a long line of people waiting to get in.
All was not lost however as there is a little wood fired pizza van in the area so I decided to check it out. The guy in the white t-shirt in the picture is the owner...he looks exactly how an Italian Pizza guy should look ...
I figured the owner could use some business so he can buy some new letters for his sign :)...
I decided to go for the peperoni pizza at £8.
They also offer meal deals if you fancy a glass of wine or bottle of beer with your pizza.
If you fancy something sweet they have many tempting cakes on offer.
I manged to get a couple of shots of the wood fired oven, this is the first time in my life I have had wood fired pizza from a van like this...I've never actually seen a wood fired oven before...
It only took a couple of minutes for the pizza guy to put everything together...
Pop it in the oven...
Et Viola! A beautiful wood fired pepperoni pizza
I sat on a bench behind this beautiful church to eat...
Time to try a slice....look at that mozzarella stretching ...mmmmmm :)
Im a gif geek so I had to make a gif of this...
The pizza was delicious...I've only ever had wood fired pizza once before. I got pretty excited when I saw this van.I wasn't let down the pizza was very tasty and was worth the £8 price.
I plan to head back to York letter in the year when its not so hot and busy, there are a few things I wanted to do that I didn't get a chance to because they were booked days in advance.
One thing is for certain when I head back to the Jorvick centre I am definitely getting another one of these delicious slices of pizza.
