Greetings Travelers
When I woke up this morning we had some beautiful sunshine on a clear blue sky day which is pretty rare for Febraruy here on the east coast of Scotland.
Yesterday we had heavy snowfall , today brilliant sunshine and blue skies, thats Scottish weather for you , we can have 4 seasons in one day.
So with it being a nice day for walking my Father and I decided to go for a drive along the coast to an area we haven't been to since before the pandemic.
There is a lovely little farm that has been here at the loch side in Kinghorn since the 16th century.
The area is known as Craigencalt Farm.
Its the perfect place for a walk on days like today, let me take you on a virtual stroll around the lake ,old mill and farmhouse.
There is a miniature radio controlled yacht club that meets here ,the lads were out racing there boats in the bonnie Scottish sunset today.
The lake is home to many ducks and geese...
This goose is sunbathing and posing for a photograph...
Now its shy...his friend shows of the "I can balance on one leg trick"...
The natural beaty of this area offers many wonderful photographic opportunities'.
Some information about the history of the Loch (Lake)
There has been a mill in this area since the 16th century , some of these buildings are really old. I wonder if they are haunted?
The area has been populated for more than 400 years ,I guess the land must have many stories to tell...
These waterfalls are beautiful and really add to the picturesque nature of the area..
Like I mentioned before these buildings are really old...
The farmhouse has a café in what used to be an old barn...
The café has a wonderful atmosphere, i guess its one of my favourite places to eat locally. They have a lovely cosy fireplace and a friendly dog.
The last time I was here they didnt have pizza on the menu.Im a sucker for a good pizza so I decide to see what the pizza is like here.First a pot of tea while we wait for the pizza.
I wanted to try the Garlic Chicken but they didn't have any so I went for double pepperoni.
The pizza was good but not great ,Ill give it 7/10 stars.
The café also sells handcrafted items made by local merchants...
Time to head home, its been a very enjoyable and surprisingly sunny day but now we gotta leave this lovely farmhouse.
As we walk back to the car I notice this tree house/summer house building behind the old farmhouse, I would LOVE to investigate this...very cool spot for a summerhouse...
As we wander past the storage building I'm surprized to see lobster pots but then I remember we are not all that far from the sea...
I will be back here in spring when these trees have blossom on them...
Goodbye Craigencalt.....until next time....
