Hey Folks
This video above is footage I shot last week while up in a town called Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands.
Lets take a look around the town.
I stayed in a lovely Bed and Breakfast called the Buttonboss lodge which I did a quick tour of at the start of the vlog video above.
The beds were comfortable...
And the breakfast was delicious...
A few shots of the art in the lodge before we head out on to the main street.
These shots are of houses and shops on the main street in this picturesque little mountain town.
This old cottage near the top of the main street has some interesting history.
Walking over the suspension bridge I got these shots of The River Tummel and The Pitlochry Dam.
Signpost's leading to local attractions.
These shots show the entrance to the Port Na Craig Cafe and Restaurant decorated for Autumn.
The Pitlochry festival Theatre is affectionately know as "The Theatre in The Hills" and is currently celebrating its 70th season.
Next to the Festival theatre is an exhibition called the explorers garden which I believe is currently under going some maintenance work. In the video above when I am in this area we can hear some construction work going on.
Pitlochry is in the district of Perthshire which is known as "Scotland's big tree country". If you are visiting Scotland from abroad Pitlochry is a good choice for a town to stay in as it is located near many other incredibly picturesque and Historic areas which I plan to visit and document through this Autumn season.
This is an area of exceptional natural beauty ,especially in the Autumn. Here is a collection of Autumnal shots I took while wandering around the Dam.
By the side of the Loch there is a fallen tree branch and on the tree is a memorial photo of someone who has passed away. It made me wonder if this woman was hit with the falling branch?
Heading back into town I found a spooky little graveyard.
In town I found a Whiskey shop with some incredibly expensive bottles. The most expensive being £6450...that's £185 per 2cl measure.
Lets end this post by looking at some places to eat in the area. One the first night we went to Fishers Coach house restaurant which I did a video review and post for which you can find here.
In the video above I do a quick review of Victoria's Restaurant.
I tried their Haggis pizza with whiskey and Onion marmalade and Scottish Cheddar. With a Jack Daniels and Coke to wash it down.
My dad tried their Steak Pie
My mum went for the Scampi and chips.
We had lunch at The Pasha Restaurant.
I tried their soup and Sandwich deal. The Soup was Lentil and Bacon and it was delicious and creamy. I enjoyed dipping my egg mayonnaise sandwiches into it :).
On the last night we bought some Pigs nose whiskey and drank it with some salted caramel and milk chocolate shortbread.
In conclusion I would highly recommend visiting this area of Scotland. Its a stunningly beautiful town which is great to base yourself in to further explore the Perthshire area. There are many beautiful walks lots of nice shops and many fantastic places to eat.
