Pathfinder - Wrath Of The Righteous -Part 1 - Class and Race Selection and The Festival Of Kenabres

Hey Guys

In the video above we start out our journey in a new crpg called Pathfinder - Wrath of The Righteous.

This first video covers character creation and the start of the main story.

The main story sees us join a crusade to fight Demons in an area of Golarion called The World Wound.

"Join the struggle against the Worldwound, the epic war between Golarion and the Abyss that has raged for more than a hundred years. Up to now the crusader armies have barely managed to curb the overwhelming enemy forces, but not for much longer - the demon lords are preparing to strike a decisive blow. You will have to harness mythic powers, take command of the Fifth crusade and lead it against the demonic hordes"

Ok sounds fun, lets dive right in...

I've always loved Pathfinders art style....look at this ,I love the Demons staff electrocuting one of the crusaders...awesome :).

This game has more class options than any other game I can think of. In the video above it takes me more than 30 mins to look at the description of each class.

Each class archetype has 6 or 7 subclasses. At the start of the game we pick one of these classes but every time we gain a level we can pick skills from a new class.

The sceenshot below show the various types of Alchemist paths we can take. I ended up choosing my main class as Demonslayer Ranger but I plan to pick up the Alchemy class soon so my Ranger can brew potions and make bombs.

After reading through the many many class types I eventually decided on Demonslayer, a subclass of the Ranger archetype.

So right out of the gate we have 25 classes and 161 subclasses to think about. The class you pick at the beginning doesn't matter to much as there are so many options available to you each time you level up.

This is going to allow for some seriously unique and incredibly fun builds. This also gives the game an incredible amount of replay ability.

Ok so lets take a look at the different races here. We have the standard Fantasy races like Elf, Dwarf ,Gnome ,Halfling, Half Elf , Half Orc, Tiefling which will be pretty familiar to most fans of D&D and the fantasy genre.

Then we have a few more uncommon races like...

Aasimars are Humans with a touch of the celestial in their ancestry.

Oread's are Humans with a touch of Earth Elementals in their ancestry.

Dhampir's are half Vampires.

Kitsune are fox folk who also have a human form.

I finally decided on a Dwarf Demonslayer Ranger

Our story begins in the city of Kenebres which is situated between two worlds. On one side we have the ordinary folk and on the other side we have the Worldwound which is the Demonic foothold on the world of Golarion.

Our character arrives in the city at a time of celebration, it seems there is currently a festival in full swing. Today is the anniversary of the founding of Kenabres.The courtyard has been cleared of marching troops and in there place are performers and carnival games.

We are carried in on a stretcher having suffered wounds in the battle against the demons.

A healer by the name of Terendelev tends to our wounds. It turns out she is a white dragon who is currently in human form.

After some brief conversation with Terendelev we are free to enjoy the festivities. We have 3 objective's here, sample the festival drink , hit the training dummy and take part in the darts tournament...

First of all I head over to the training dummy and give it a good old punch...

Next we go and sample the festival drink...

Just as we are finishing sampling the drink a dark portal appears in the courtyard, the ground shakes and everyone flees...I guess were not going to make that darts tournament then?

The city becomes infested with demons...

The demon horde is lead by a Demon Lord named Deskari , lord of Locust's.

Terendelev takes her true form in an effort to defend the city against Deskari...

We receive our first weapon from a halfling guard, its a crossbow and he tells us it can even pierce the hide of a demon lord...

I dont know about you but Im kinda doubting my newly acquired light crossbow is going to do anything to this guy...

We let lose a bolt from the crossbow which surprisingly does hit the lord of locusts..

All we did was piss him of , he hits the ground with his scythe creating a huge chasm which our hero falls into...

We find ourselves in the catacombs below Kenebres

Our first objective is to find more survivors in our first quest Devoured by Darkness...

Ill end this post here for now. In part 2 we will look at the combat system as we explore the catacombs and meet other survivors.

So far I am really enjoying this game. The depth of character creation is almost overwhelming with its vast possibilities. The story is interesting enough to keep me intrigued and the voice acting is really good which helps draw me into the world of Golarion.

It would be cool to see some other hive gamers cover this title.@pusen @perceval @strawhat maybe this is one you guys would like?

Ill keep the Pathfinder content coming fairly regularly its the only crpg I am currently playing and its captured my interest over most other games that are out right now.
