Baldur's Gate 3 - Defeating Commander Zhalk And His Cambion Minions!And Looting The Everburn Blade

This fight happens at the end of Baldurs Gate 3's opening mission onboard a mindflayer spaceship.For the story so far and to find out how we got here check my previous Baulders Gate 3 post here.

At the end of the Nautiloid part in the opening story of Baldur's Gate 3 there is a fight where you have the opportunity to kill a Demon Commander named Zhalk and loot his fiery Greatsword the Everburn blade.

Commander Zhalk is Level 8 at this point in the game your characters are only level 1.At first it likely seems this fight is impossible but with some clever game play its fairly easy.

Zhalk is resistant to most types of damage apart from Radiant ,Acid and Necrotic.

Killing Zhalk will gain you 240 exp, enough to hit level 2 right at the start of the game. There are currently only 4 levels in early access so gaining so much exp this early is a big boost.

Half way through the fight Zhalk is aided by 2 Cambions which are level 5,they don't have nice loot , just Greatswords but killing them gives 120 exp each.

Its a VERY tricky fight to kill Commander Zhalk and both Cambions but if you manage it your very close to level 3 right at the start of the game and you have a fiery greatsword and feel like a big bad boi :)

In the video above I mange the perfect end to the Nautiloid section of the game killing Zhalk and both Cambions...this took a few save reloads and probably a lot of random number generator luck but in the end all 3 demons died and we escaped the Nautiloid ship before the Mindflayer murdered us or the Dragons burnt us to a crisp....
