Hey Foodies
Today I played a round with a few new ideas for French Toast
I got this hot chocolate bomb filled with marshmallows at Christmas and I wanted to make some French toast to go with it.
While the chocolate bomb was melting in warm milk I added some nutella spead to 2 slices of bread and dipped it in an egg and milk wash.
This is the first time I have tried this,2 slices of egg/milk washed bread stuffed with nuttella and fryed in olive oil.
I had a very small amount of flour to use up and I was curious to see what would happen if I used it to thicken up the egg/milk and turn it into a batter.
Our first piece of toast was nuttella stuffed...this one is going to be battered, agian this was the first time I tried this.
Into the pan it goes...
The results look good...like something from a fish and chip shop :).
The cholate bomb has melted and released its marshmallow content, the toast is done lets sample it!
The hot chocolate and marshmallow was real nice.
The "Nutella stuffed" French toast is very tasty. For those of you who love Nutella , you gotta give this a go! I would suggest adding some cinnamon and nutmeg if you have it.
For the next piece of toast I used a small jar of marmalade to put a hole in the centre...
Next I added an egg to the toast hole...we will call this style "Egg in The Hole" style! :D
This was also very tasty.Im thinking an even better idea would be to make this style then add the batter for a crispy breakfast treat.
We could season the batter many different ways...cinnamon/nug meg or salt/pepper/chilli flakes possibly fryed in garlic butter?
How about make maple syrup batter and add some bacon to the toast?
Anyways I hope I inspired some off you to whip up one of these easy to prepare tasty breakfast treats :D
