I am already in my town, the town that adopted me, I have approximately 23 years loving it every day, and in that walk I have visited its traditions, one of them is the San Juan which is celebrated on June 24 but it starts from the 23rd, making a wake until 12:00 am on the day of San Juan Bautista.

The San Juan you met in songs of Afro-indigenous flavor, accompanied by drums, when the big drum beats the dance is between many couples, but when the ears perceive that the round drum beats, it is known that only one couple dances, there are different songs which are: the round, the aji, the bamba, the novillo, La perra, the corrozo, the lucerito, the tumba, among others where the change of couples is evident.

On June 24, the day begins early in the morning with a mass to San Juan and then the tour throughout the town. This tradition began in colonial times in the Casarapa hacienda in Guarenas, the house of the patron saint had a chapel and from that place he was worshiped from June 23 at night. On June 24 at dawn the villagers were preparing to continue the feast with the holy mass in the parish church and the feast ends on June 25 which is called the burial of St. John.
