    About :

While most weeks feel like hard work, this week has actually been hard work! After putting in more weekend working hours, making deft use of the angle grinder to remove redundant central heating pipes and radiators in the warehouse - plus removing the stop-gap temporary ceiling put into the equipment demonstration room - so I can fit a more visually pleasing suspended ceiling.

Back to normal work on Monday and it’s of course been busy coffee roasting week - with the roaster running every single day. New this week is Summer Blend taking over from the Spring Blend - plus branded boxes have now been ordered so @whiterosecoffee is going to be looking very smart indeed.

The end of the week became quite hectic though, with the power company deciding to unannounced turn off all my work’s power at 4.30pm Thursday so they could spend an hour replacing a damaged power cable. And of course with the warehouse shutter being electrically powdered - it also stopped me leaving work as my car was inside - plus the carrier turned up for our two pallets of parcels ten minutes after the power went off - so with no way to get them through the warehouse entrance each parcel had to walked along a narrow corridor and out the front door - fun!

To add to my woe’s the toilet at home decided Thursday night late would be the best time to break, the filling adjuster shred it’s thread allowing the cistern to just keep filling and over flowing. I botched a late night fix that stopped it filling at all, then tried an early morning fix which went wrong and ultimately turned into using a piece of wood across the cistern top to prop up the arm and keep the valve shut. So Saturday morning was spent fitting a brand new fill valve assembly - would have been quicker if I had not needed to pull out the tumble dryer and washing machine to access the water isolation valve.

And Saturday afternoon - back at work to build the framing for the suspended ceiling - that’s another tricky job because only two sides of the room it is going in has an actual wall - the other two need supporting wooden beams to mount the ceiling edging to.
