The rain has stayed away mostly, although sun has been very fleeting. After a miserable wet weekend last week - mostly spent at work finishing off the suspended ceiling - the weekdays have been drier but still mostly overcast.

Most days seem to involve a delivery somewhere local, with a few visits to The Piece Hall and drops around the town centre and Dean Clough. I finally resurrected the van battery, which unsurprisingly had gone dead flat since the van hasn’t moved since December - but with a drip charger, top up of distilled water and a small 12v battery pack I managed to get it fully charged again so the van could take a trip to the scrap metal merchants to empty it of metal I’ve been filling it with from work for a year, including the old radiators and pipes I’d stripped off the warehouse walls a few weeks back. After a jet wash, top of with diesel and delivery it managed to start itself after six stops - so all working again although I’m going to leave the live terminal disconnected when we are not using it in future!

Many big roast days too, building up stock and fulfilling orders - two orders made up 100kg alone of coffee so there has been loads of coffee to roast and pack. But Friday 13th bit me, after 5 full roasts in the 30kg on Friday the outside ducting fan that helps pull the smoke out must have overheated and shut off - so the last roast I did ended with as much smoke inside as was going out. Taking the outside ducting apart the fan was pretty clogged with coffee dust, and after a good cleaning session span up fine - so it looks like cleaning that will need to be a more regular job.
