Archive: Iron Dome Tel Aviv 23 Aug 2014 with distance

The reports of an explosion heard across north London at 4am today (which look very much like being two RAF Typhoons scrambled to intercept an unresponsive 767) reminded me of this video I recorded in 2014 of very distant Iron Dome interceptions in the vecinity of Tel Aviv. The alarms were sounding way south and not in my area so I filmed them.

I have previously released this video but with modifications to make the distance to the explosions impossible to calculate accurately. This video contains the accurate sound and timing. The ground distance to the interceptions is around 11.3km assuming an intercept height of 7km (which is reasonable I'm told). This would have been against the largest Grad rockets that Hamas has in Gaza.
