Blue's 2 Minute Tips: Canning Pickles

Many of you know, I grow vegetables during the sping, summer, and fall. but what to do with all those vegetables? Canning is one way to extend the harvest into the winter months and early spring when not as many vegatables are being harvested fresh.

Follow Along, as I step thru the process of making 2 kinds of Pickles, with the garden fresh Pickling Cucumbers. If you do not grow your own, any seedless, smaller cucumber will do. Kirby, National Pickling and Boston Pickling all are known for smaller seeds, and a thicker skin for a fresh SNAP when pickling.

Most of you know, I prefer locally grown food. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. In fact, I prefer to grow my own food. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking to get fresh foods to my table.

And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.
