Estamos regreso en el escenario del #openmic para compartir con el resto de esta increíble comunidad en su semana 153.

Mi cover de hoy es una pieza del compositor brasileiro Antônio Carlos Jobim. En esta ocasión, es la Bossa Nova titulado Insensatez.

Hasta el martes pasado, no había escuchado esta canción en mi vida. Al llegar. A clase, mi profesor estuvo un rato escuchando esta canción. Era una versión en español. Así en poco tiempo sacó la pieza y luego volteó para decirme que eso era lo que íbamos a estudiar ese día.

Había otra pieza más compleja pendiente, pero hubo algo que lo atrapó de esta belleza de canción. Tanto que tuve que enseñarme la pieza para sacársela de la cabeza. A veces mis clases son así. Es interesante porque permite ampliar el repertorio y conocer más de la música del mundo.

Por supuesto, lo más importante usar el instrumento fuera de su contexto tradicional. Además, hice un arreglo un poco más rápido y sencillo para sentir que le ponía mi granito de arena a la interpretación.

Insensatez Cover

We are back on the stage of the #openmic for its 153rd week to share some music with this amazing community.

My cover for today is a song by Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim. It's a Bossa Nova titled "Insensatez"(insensibility).

Truth be told, I learned this songs because my teacher got it stuck in his mind. He must've listened to it over the weekend. On Tuesdays, when I go there for my classes, he was still listening to some versions on YouTube and working out the piece. Then, he looked at me and told me that would be my lessons for the day. Thus, I learned this one.

There's another piece, more complex in the backburner. But I must confess that the beauty of this one is catchy. I believe that teaching me this song was a way to get it out of his brain. Some of my classes are like that. It's an interesting experience since I learn more about the music of the world by songs I wouldn't have listened on my own and adding more variety to my repertoire.

Nevertheless, the important thing is taking the instrument out of its traditional setting and showing its versatility. I made this arrangement faster than the usual tempo to make it my own. It keeps its simplicity and thus retains a lot of what makes this peoce beautiful.
