After some weeks off, I'm back again. Hello, there fellow musicians and music lovers. This week's topic of #openmic goes over a concept know as Tevazu. A word that translates to humility and modesty. I would like to ask how much do we practice this as artists. There's a lot to be said about the whims of artistic life and how it engulf us. Some of the vest artists go beyond the scope of this word. Perhaps they think the world owes them something. But who knows?

I'd like to take this chance to go over a song I first recorded years ago. The results weren't good. I suffer whenever I see that video. Yet, it still exists. Locked in my YouTube profile. It is a reminder of how work ought to be done in order to achieve better results. Some classes ago, my teacher came with the song. I was laughing when I listened to it. But I took as a chance to remind myself of the concept of humility. Going over my previous attempt in order to make something different and better.

I think that's the case. Here I made a new cover of a Venezuelan Waltz by César Prato, this one is called Media Luna Andina . It is a beautiful song. It has won many a singing festival. And in retrospect, it would've been better for another topic, but it's here now. The better version of it at least. This one has rain drops and a car in the sound. But that's what I get from recording in the front yard. I'm not free from ambient sounds yet.

Después de unas semanas ocupadas, volvemos al ruedo. Espero que todos los colegas músicos y amantes de la música se encuentren bien. En esta semana exploramos el tema Tevazu . Este concepto se traduce como humildad o modestia. Me gustaría saber cuántos practicamos algo de esto. La vida artística es un vendaval de emociones. Aquellos en la cima a veces olvidan estas ideas. Quizá creen que el mundo les debe algo. ¿Quién sabe?

En lo que a mí respecta, quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para otro intento en una canción que ya había publicado hace años. Esta existe en los fondos más recónditos de mi perfil de YouTube y ahí se quedará como un recordatorio de cómo hacer el trabajo para tener los mejores resultsdos. Hace unas semanas, mi profesor salió con esta canción en plena clase. Un ataque de risa después, ví la oportunidad de prepararme para esto. Parte de la humildad es reconecer nuestra necesidad de mejorar. Así que aquí voy a enmendar aquella grabación.

El tema en cuestión es Media Luna Andina, un vals venezolano del compositor César Prato. Es una canción hermosa que se ha ganado más de un festival de canto. Quizá hubiera encajado mejor en otra semana, pero ahora el momento se dio ahora. Espero que mi nuevo intento le haga justicia. Dentro del acompañamiento tengo gotas de lluvia y un carro. Son cosas que no puedo dejar por fuera por los momentos. ¿Qué se le va a hacer?
