Hive Open Mic Week #125 || "La Bikina". Venezuelan Cuatro Soloist Cover 🎼🎵🎶

After a break for two weeks, I'm back on this wonderful community to share my entry. In this opportunity, the song I'm playing needs no introduction. It is a classic of singing in Spanish. It's crazy the number of artists who have sung this one. It is called "La Bikina". It was composed by Ruben Fuentes in 1964. I'm playing a Venezuelan rendition of this Mexican song changing its rhythm to what we know as "Onda Nueva". This is a genre that envisions Joropo in an urban setting. It's more or less a mix of Joropo and Jazz.

The song the story of a woman who is looking for the love that left her. I bet that if she could find it, we could do anything. Love is the real of possiblity. Nothing in impossible in the idea of love. Even of that is a cruel design of fate. I hope you enjoy my performance. It took me s lot of tries to get a good video of this. But it was totally worth it!

As usual, my trusty Venezuelan Cuatro, Embla does th singing for me. It is also the first time I'm doing a proper solo since I'm playing with variations on the theme applying some chord melody. Hope you find it interesting.

Después de tomarme dos semanas fuera de esta ventana, vuelvo para mostrar mi participación en esta comunidad increíble. En esta ocasión, la canción no necesita nucha explicación. Se conoce como "La Bikina" y fue compuesta por Rubén Fuentes en 1964. Si revisan los datos, está obra ha sido interpretada por una gran cantidad de artistas. En esta ocasión, tocaré una versión venezulana de esta canción mexicana. Para esto, lo haré en el ritmo de Onda Nueva, una versión citadina del Joropo. Algo así como la mezcla entre el Joropo y el Jazz.

Esta canción cuenta la historia de una mujer que busca al amor que la abandonó. Creo que si lo encontrará todo sería posible. El reino del amor es el reino de la posibilidad. Por amor, muchas cosas se vuelven posibles. Espero que disfruten de mi participación. Me tomo muchos intentos llegar al resultado que ven aquí.

Cómo es costumbre, Embla, mi cuatro venezolano, hace todo el trabajo por mi. También es la primera vez que hago un solo de cuatro con variaciones sobre el tema principal. Todo gracias al uso de la melodía armonizada. Espero que sea de su agrado.
