Splinterlands Musing: Need for Speed

Rules right? Nobody likes them but without them, we won't order in society. Outside the sphere of "society" and deep in the Splinterlands, battles are guided by rules and when monsters line up, they always abide by these rules. Each battle requires its own tactic/requirement, and as you get higher up the ranks, more rules are thrown in the mix to add to the spectacle.

Despite the dynamism of the game, there are certain traits or staples of monsters if you may, that goes a long way in influencing the outcome of battles. Out of all the traits, the speed of monsters tends to be the most neglected.

In this battle, where I used Dragon summoner and some monsters that altered the speed of the battle to my favour, you can get a clear idea of how speed played a determining factor in my victory.

The truth is when it comes to determining the outcome of battles, speed is equally as important as the strength of the monsters attack and the health. the key to winning battles is a healthy balance of speed, attack strenth and health. No monster has it all, so you have to tweak your team until you get that balance.

Note:

Keep an eye out for reverse speed battles though; in those battles, the speed requirements are reversed and slower monsters go first.
