The Napoleone Oak, which is also popularly known as Broat Achn (Broad Oak), stands about 2 km north of Winkelhaid on the old Nürnberger Straße in the forest section Kalter Brunnen. Southeast of the oak is the motorway junction Altdorf-Nordwest. It is called Napoleoneiche (Napoleon's Oak) because Napoleon is said to have camped here, but there is no evidence for this.

It was declared a natural monument in 1910 because of its size. The very massive trunk stands at a slight angle and is heavily mossy on one side. Measured at a height of 1 m, the circumference of the trunk is 7 m. A wide flash track extends on one side from the ground to far upwards. At a height of about 5 m, the monumental trunk splits into three very strong branches that reach vertically upwards. The three branches look like independent trees. However, it is not a case of multiple trunks. **The trunk is clearly single-stemmed. The very high crown is not particularly broad and has only a few strong branches. In 2012, the age of the oak was determined to be 330 to 350 years by tree ring analysis. The label directly on the oak does not indicate the correct age of the oak.

The vitality of the oak is described as good, which I can confirm from my first impressions on site.
