'Una mattina mi sono alzato... O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao'
Greetings to all Hive friends who visit my blog
This time I want to share something different with you. As you know, these last weeks I have uploaded some musical content to participate in the Hive Music Festival, and due to the good comments and requests of some colleagues of this great beehive I decided to make a demonstration that is out of the competition and that only has the purpose of trying to entertain you for a while with some good music and a little bit of drama. It is the song "Bella Ciao", which was popularized in the successful TV series "La casa de papel" where several of its protagonists interpret this theme in key moments of the plot. This is one of my favorite series and therefore I enjoyed very much making this work with much affection for all those who want to appreciate and value it
The paper house
Within the series, this theme is mainly interpreted by two of its protagonists, key characters in the story, such as El profesor (Álvaro Morte) and Berlin (Pedro Alonso) in a call for "resistance" as a symbol of rebellion against the corruption of the Spanish government. Finally, the song is chanted by all the members of the band of robbers once they manage to dig a tunnel that would lead them to freedom, after having carried out the most important robbery in history. It is also heard, in a more nostalgic way at the end of the robbery when "Berlin" loses his life in the final confrontation with the police.
For the edition of this video, I used the main scene of the musical theme, which is the conversation of the Professor with Berlin, in what would be his last conversation, the night before the beginning of the robbery.
The Song
It was an anthem of the Italian resistance against the fascism of Benito Mussolini and the Nazi troops during World War II. But the origin of this popular song is much older than is believed, as some point out that the melody is an adaptation of a klezmer ballad, a genre that emerged from the musical tradition of Ashkenazi Jews - Jews from Eastern Europe.
It has also been performed as a popular song by the rice field workers of the Po Valley, in northern Italy, in the 19th century. Italian workers and students also used this hymn in their demonstrations as a symbol of protest.
And like these, so many other stories surround the origin of this song.
Una mattina mi son svegliato,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
Una mattina mi son svegliato,
e ho trovato l'invasor.
O partigiano, portami via,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
O partigiano, portami via,
ché mi sento di morir.
E se io muoio da partigiano,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
E se io moio da partigiano,
tu mi devi seppellir.
E seppellire lassù in montagna,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
E seppellire lassù in montagna,
sotto l'ombra di un bel fior.
Tutte le genti che passeranno,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
e le genti che passeranno,
Mi diranno «Che bel fior!»
«E questo è il fiore del partigiano»,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
«E questo è il fiore del partigiano,
morto per la libertà!»
«E questo è il fiore del partigiano»,
morto per la libertà!»
