    Hello beautiful community of #holos-lotus

I hope you had a harmonious weekend, a few days ago the hólos&lotus community created an initiative about Breathing: Food for Life and Spirit, this time I decided to do some breathing exercises with my daughter Miranda. It was a fun experience for both of us.

According to Wikipedia, breathing is the process by which living beings exchange gases with the external environment. It consists of oxygen entering the body of a living being and carbon dioxide leaving it. It is indispensable for the life of aerobic organisms.

But for breathing to be effective we must learn to do it consciously and voluntarily, that is to concentrate on our rhythm, feel how our air flow passes, besides being an excellent therapy to control our emotions, such as anger, stress, nerves, among others. When we breathe in and out we concentrate to such an extent that we do not think anything else, we just take the balance of our body and mind.

When we perform the correct breathing, our brain oxygenates helping to counteract the aging of the gray matter, controls anxiety and improves the quality of sleep.

I know how difficult it is to perform these exercises in young children, so the ideal is to do it in a fun way, that is, through games.

    • The bee 🐝: This type of breathing consists of breathing in through the nose and then we exhale making the sound of the buzzing of a bee, in this way we manage to maintain concentration. We can repeat from 2 to 4 times.

    • The soup 🍵: It consists of inhaling and exhaling blowing the soup to cool it, we repeat the exercise smelling this rich soup and blowing, the idea of these exercises is that the child performs deep inspirations and when exhaling they relax. We can repeat from 2 to 4 times.

    • The elephant 🐘: In these exercises we open our legs as if we had big legs, big ears and a big trunk through which we are going to take air and we bounce through the mouth making a big sound. We can repeat from 2 to 4 times.

    • The Lumberjack 🤠: It is a type of breathing that allows us to release tensions and anger, it consists of placing our hands above our head as if we were holding an axe, we inhale and exhale as we go down making the sound of Haaaaaa... We can repeat from 2 to 4 times.

    • The giant balloon 🎈: It consists of taking all the air through the nose and then we simulate that we are inflating a big giant balloon, this last exercise can be repeated 2 times.

The objective of these breathing exercises is that children learn to perform them to handle any situation that may arise, for example when they have to expose, present an exam 😯, when they are angry 😤, when they are restless. Little by little they will be able to learn to hold their breath for longer. The idea is to have fun and learn from yoga by playing.

I hope you like this activity ideal for children...See you in a future post.
