Bago City celebrates their charter day every 19th of February. As to make the celebration more enjoyable, a lot of activities were held in the for a week. There were Fancy Drills and High School Day, different celebrities, Bazaars, and live bands. I'm not a citizen of the place but I know a lot of friends living there.
They invited me to come at the night of the highlight celebration for some famous bands will play and it was open for everyone to see. I got excited once I heard about it, for Ben & Ben and Chocolate Factory will be playing that night. I'm not a fan for sure but that kind of occassion is rare. The rain was also joining the fun, and it doscouraged me to go. However, it stopped before they started, so I still go.
The queue was quite long when we got there, and we walked to another entrance to check if we can enter. There was no queue but people crowded here and we got stucked in the midst of it. I was afraid of a possible stampede at that moment since more and more people have gathered, some of them were even purposedly pushing one another just to enter the Grandstand.
The guards was forced to surrender to crowd's wishes and open the gates wider. The stampede was avoided in the right time. Honestly, I was already gasping for air in the crowd. I was really thankful when they finally let us all in. Ben & Ben weren't there yet, as found a spot in front of the Grandstand. There was a yound lady named Dieven singing at the stage to entertain the crowd while they patiently wait.
I have met some of my friends inside. They have been there inside for long before we came. I figured out that it would be more fun if I could meet my classmates inside, do I tried contacting them. Unfortunately, the signal inside was poor. I have contacted them eventually but we never have chance to meet in the large crowd.
After a few requested and orginal songs that were sang by Dieven, Ben & Ben finally came out of the stage. The whole crowd cheered on their arrival and they became more enthusiastic. Most of the people took out their phones to record this rare event including me.
It was hard to take photos from afar, especially taking videos since people were constantly moving around to get a good view of them. Once in a while, there would be someone who will bumped at you. That's why my video up there were shaky, and my photos were a little bit blurred. I was afraid that I could drop my phone in the crowd, it's the best that I can share here.
The whole turned on their flashlight and raised it high as they play their famous songs; Kathang Isip, Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay, Araw-Araw, Paninindigan Kita, and many more.
Their concert finally came to an end, yet an enjoyable one with most of the audiences who relates to every lyrics of their songs. That was them singing their last song, saying good bye to everyone, and thanking them for their warm welcome and solid support.
The next band to play was Chocolate Factory. We stayed to listen for a few songs but went out afterwards while there weren't a crowd of people exiting together. It was my first among all of the plans of watching a concerts and live bands. I was elated as I exit the Grandstand. Finally, I achieved another first and a memorable one, but, more to go in the future, I guess.
