2017 when I got my application accepted to do my industrial training at the bank I was happy and sad, sad because have always disliked the activities of the banks when it comes to time-wasting and also treating unfairly when it comes to your money. You see them begging you to create/open an account and would promise you all the things you want to hear and when you finally open the account that is when you know all they have is sweet tongues of fake promises, they treat you like you have no right on your money, ask you to feel hundreds of forms when it’s time to withdraw or when your account has little issues.
I was happy because the exam/application test wasn’t from this world and being in a room filled with hundreds of applicants were first going to make your heart skip and doubt your ability. And also it was because I got accepted in one of the best and less stressful branches, knowing that the workload won’t be much because it was stationed at the government residential area (GRA) not usually crowded just a few people coming in once in while without spending up to 5 minutes.
Oh! Trust me there are times where the workload was much and I stayed a whole day without eating, just looking tired and hungry, and wish time will just fast forward to when it’s time to round. Sometimes you get to hear complaints of clients that are not worth being made a complaint and you just wish you could scream and shout at them to make them understand that it’s simple as it gets no need for complaints but due to professionalism, you just have to bear and painfully put them through over and over again until you are out a breath.
The fun part is when the bank is empty no one coming or going; just we the staff having a gist, laugh, and catching a cruise. Sometimes we just go to our free room where we have lunch and watch a little movie and play some games. There are times when we have some recreational activities outside the bank and it’s usually done every third Friday of the month and it is usually fun seeing people trying their best to do exercise gestures they are not used to, it’s so hilarious.
Another person that made the work fun for me was my cousin who was staying close by, she comes from time to time to check up on me and she doesn’t come empty with an empty hand, of course, she either brings food or snacks and when there’s nothing to bring, she waits till I close and take me out and yeah you can say she’s a rich kid from a rich home so spending on me was fun because am her favorite cousin brother, we are like cat and rats when we are together.
And I want to say a big thank you to my supervisor too for his care and teachings; he really taught me a lot and everything concerning banking and even things that weren’t related to my/our department. He was like a father, even though he still shifted most of his work to me after he has taught me how to do it LOL
