Indian Transgender Activist Found Dead in Her Home 😔

The Coimbatore Transgender Association President Sangeetha was recently found dead at her residence. Sangeetha was part of a group of transgender people who opened a restaurant, Covai Trans Kitchen, to employ community members who lost their jobs because of the coronavirus. After neighbours complained about the foul smell coming from her home, the police found her decomposing body. The investigators stated that they had formed three teams to conduct an inquiry to look at the incident from all angles. Grace Banu, the Trans Rights Now Collective founder, urged the Tamil Nadu government to find the those behind the killing and take strict action against them, stating, “Let the culprits and the government not assume there is no one to ask [about transgender killings].”
